She walked through the cold hallways of the hospital heading to her mother's room.
The doctor had said the she didn't have a lot of time left and Rosalia wasn't sure how to feel about that. She loved her mother, she really did. So when she was told that her mother was dying, Rosalia knew a part of her would die as well.
Just to see her mother suffer like this, just to see the pain her mother was in-
It was too much for her.She finally reached her mother's ward and took a deep breath before reaching to open the door, but she paused when she heard this sound of her fathers voice.
"Rosemary, I don't know if you can even hear me..." he said with a thick voice showing he was crying. He choked on his sob as he paused, taking a moment before he started again.
"I wish I could take your pain away, my love. I really do. To hear your sweet singing while you make Sunday lunch for us, to smell your lavender scent one last time, and to hold your hand as we walk down the beach... To relive every single moment I had with you. That's all I want. I want more time, more memories of you that I can cherish. " he finished before I heard him sobbing quietly." now, you can't even breathe on your own, and your scent is masked by the strong smell of hospital chemicals and my last memories of you will be your pain and suffering in the end. All because you wanted to have her, all because you couldn't bear to let her go like everyone told you, now look where you are " he said those words venomously, with so much hatred my head spun.
The young 7 year old didn't understand the concept of hate back then, but she did understand the feeling of being unwanted- and that's how she's felt ever since since the death of her mother a few hours later that day.
Her father never looked at her the same after that. He blamed her. And she blamed herself.

Rosalia walked up the long driveway of the King family and smiled as she saw the head maid waiting patiently for her by the front door.
"Afternoon ma'am, I'm here to apply for the cleaning position." Rosalia said respectfully.
The woman responded with a small smile. "Nice to meet you, miss".
She lead Rosalia into the house and down a long corridor. They had to walk up a 2 flights of stairs before they came to a large mahogany door with the name King labelled in gold." Mr King will interview you shortly", the lady said as she knocked on the door and waited for the order to come in. After a fews seconds the door was opened and a tall older man walked out of the office.
Rosalia stood still as the maid peaked her head inside.
"Sir. The first interviewee is here" she said before turning around and leaving.Rosalia walked toward the door and cautiously pushed it open. The King sat in his chair with a drink in his hand and younger looking woman sitting beside him.
" Rosalia Carmicheal, I presume?" he said smoothly his voice rich like chocolate.
She nodded her head quickly and closed the door behind her.20 minutes later she walked out of the office with a small smile on her face and a job of her own in the bag, maybe now her father would love her. Maybe he would see how hard she was working just for his acknowledgement.
Or maybe it was all her wishful thinking.
I didn't even notice before but I just realized that I always let the mothers die, in all my stories. Wtf.
