Current coursed through my veins, rendering me numb to my surrounding. The air charged-up around us all of a sudden when he uttered that one word. His rough yet deep voice had me halt in my step. I couldn't help but contrast his voice to the voice of the boy I had met years ago. The boy had a soft and sweet voice but this man...Well, let's just say, he has the sexiest voice I've ever heard.
Does he remember me? I couldn't help but wonder.
I swallowed a lump and turned on my heel, not at all prepared to face him. His brown eyes were trained on me. My breath hitched when I took him in. The man was breath-taking handsome by every definition. I had never been turned on to this extent by disheveled brown hair and five o'clock shadow before. His unkempt look was inspiring dirty thoughts in me. Unable to carry the weight of his gaze any longer, I flipped my gaze to the ground and stood rooted to my spot. I cupped my left elbow with my right hand and waited for him to wrench his eyes away from me.
"Come here," my heart kicked again when his voice hit my eardrums.
I wasn't his servant to follow his demands but there was something in his voice that made me obey his words. Besides, I had lost my voice. Such was the impact.
I willed my feet to walk towards the couch he was sitting on. His eyes watching me keenly. I stood beside one of the chairs, completely clueless. I was supposed to leave and not stay. That's exactly what Mrs. Grayson had told me.
"Sit," he commanded again. This time I flicked my gaze up to his face to understand his intention. My insides melted when I realized he was still watching my every movement. I slipped myself into the chair next to the couch.
My eyes were on stalks as I watched the guy pulling the tray towards him. Such an ordinary act but I was thrilled. I was watching his every movement with utmost interest as if he was some kind of alien I happened upon. To be honest. I was still not over the fact that I was sitting in the forbidden room with Ethan Claymont. How does one get used to it? The man no one had seen ever before was sitting right in front of me. And was talking to me. Like a normal people.
He looked calm and composed which befuddled me. I was expecting him to pounce at me and snarl at my sight. Isn't that what demon-possessed people do? I couldn't help but cringe at my own thoughts.
The breath knocked out of my lungs when he snapped his head towards me as if he had heard my thought. His deep brown eyes searching my blue ones for something.
How could someone be so beautiful? That was the only thing going on in my head.
"Eat with me," he said
"Huh?" I asked confused. I must have misheard him.
"Eat with me," he said again. Slowly but sensually. His eyes had captivated mine.
"No...I..I mean...I've had my dinner just half an hour ago," I forced the words out of my mouth. My mind busy replaying what just had happened between us a few minutes ago.
I saw his expression crumble a little by my response. He nodded and started eating. I instantly started to feel bad. Guilt overtook me. Oddly enough, I didn't want him to feel sad.
But I controlled my emotions and watched him eating. I was taken aback once again when I saw him eating with so much elegance. How? The finding was baffling considering he had no contact with the outside world for about sixteen years.
His spoon occasionally clanked against the plate while scooping the food. His concentration was on food now and so I allowed myself a moment to look around his room. The room that had me intrigued for more than a decade now.
