Dean's POV
~~~~~~~~
I woke up with Cas in front of me, my arms wrapped around him and my left leg overtop of both of his. I shifted my leg off of his own and I hear a quiet, "Dean..?"
"Hey Cas, I was just wanting to ya know, get dressed." I ran my fingers through Cas' deep black hair and then crawled my way over him.
"What...time is it?" I hear Cas ask as I bend over to pick up my clothes from the ground. Last night was an unforgettable night, it was the first time I actually felt a connection with someone.
"It's 9:45, I have an 11 a.m. though so I have some ti-" Cas cuts me off.
"Shit! I have a 10 a.m. today, shit, shit." I see Cas running to pick up his clothes, and putting them on his body in a rush. He grabs his books from his book bag and before leaving the room, "Dean I...I'll see you when I get back or whatever." And Cas kissed me before running out of the room. I just stood there.
"Bye..." I put my jeans and t-shirt in the laundry basket then, pulled open my bottom drawer and grabbed a pair of new jeans. I slid them on and grabbed my belt from the floor and slipped it through each belt loop. I stopped after putting on my belt and pants. Cas didn't have time to make his bed...maybe I should make it for him? I walked toward his bed and started pulling the blankets and pillows off of his bed and onto the floor. First, I straightened his sheets and then I put his blankets on, one by one. The print on them was feathers, black ones, on a white background. I raised one eyebrow, weird. Then I fluffed his pillows, the same print as his blankets, and placed them by the headboard. I stood back and looked at the bed, nodding.
"Yeah, this looks good. Not bad for someone who's had to do it for over 20 years." I smiled, and then started to walk over to my closet to grab a shirt. I picked out just a plain black v-neck and a red flannel. I grabbed my brown boots and slipped them onto my feet, but not before putting on socks. I grabbed my coat and notebook, "10:28, okay, so I have time to head to the library and study for the history test today."
I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote on it, If I'm not back before you are, then it's because I have an 11 a.m. then a 12 a.m., we could get lunch after my 12 a.m. if that's ok. I also made your bed since you didn't have time to.
I placed the note on his bed and opened the door and proceeded to close it. I turned to see Sam standing in front of me.
"Jesus Sam, a little warning would be nice, yeah?" I looked up at him. He had a gash above his left eyebrow and his lip was bleeding.
"Sammy, what the hell happened!? Who did this to you!?" I grabbed his arm, opened my door, and pulled him inside.
"I-I don't know. I was walking to my first class, and I just felt being hit across my face and then it went black. I woke up by a tree in the courtyard with no one around, probably because it was only around 9 and no one is in there that early." He looked down at the ground, and crossed his arms.
"Sit down Sam, and let me look at ya." I pulled up a chair while he sat down on Cas' bed, sitting on the note. He shifted to the side and pulled it out from under him, handing it to me.
"Here, I feel like I shouldn't read it anyways." I take the paper and put it on the floor at the time.
I lean in closer to Sam's face, examining above his eyebrow and slightly touching it. I heard and saw him wince.
"Okay, well I don't think you need stitches, so that's good. Probably just some Steri-Strips, like butterfly stitches. And for the lip, just let that heal I suppose, okay?" I see Sam nod in understanding. I get up and walk over to my dresser and pull open the top drawer. I grab some ibuprofen and hand Sam two pills.
"Here, it'll help with ya know, the pain." Same takes them without water, just swallows them.
"Thanks Dean, it means a lot knowing that I can come to you for help. I better get going, I have an 11 a.m. for calculus. See ya."
"See ya, Sammy." I call out to him as he opens and closes the door, leaving me alone in the room once again. I look over at the clock, 10:42. Great. I'll just have to cram really quickly before the test begins. I grab my notebook once more and pick up the note off the floor, placing it once again on Cas' bed. Opening the door, I step outside closing the door behind me. I walk to the left, heading towards room 175, Professor Kwok's class.
I look down at my watch, it reads 10:50 a.m. and I walk into Prof. Kwok's classroom, finding a seat in the back, I sit down.
"Dean, I'm surprised to see you here ten minutes early." I hear Mr. Kwok say.
"Just trying to bring up my grades by doing well on this test." I opened my notebook and flipped to the history section, skimming over the most important parts and trying to plaster the notes into my head. I look down at my watch, 10:55, I gotta quicken up my pace. I finish skimming through my notes when Kwok starts handing out the tests.
I finished the test in history 10 minutes before everyone else did and decided to skip my 12 a.m. so I could head back to the dorm.
On my way there, I heard a familiar voice in the hallway.
"Cas..?" I quickened my pace and turned the corner to see Cas on the floor surrounded by people I've never seen before.
"What the hell is going on!?" I rush over to Cas and those surrounding him and I feel something push me back, flinging me across the hallway.
"Dean...!" I heard Cas call out. I pick myself up and sprint over to them again, managing to tackle one of the people. I turn to my right and I see one of the guys pull out a knife and they head toward Cas. I feel the man underneath me push me off of him, making me tumble backwards onto my back, hitting my head. I look over and see one the men plunge the knife into Cas' side.
"CAS! NO! Dammit!!" I scream out. Why isn't anyone helping or hearing this? I feel tears starting to form in my eyes, growing heavier until they fall onto the floor. I close my eyes trying to push away the pain from my head away. When I open my eyes, the men are gone and Cas is sitting against the wall, his side bleeding profusely.
I crawl over to him, "Cas! Can you hear me?! Please say something, anything!" Tears are streaming down my face, why is this happening?
"Dean...help me.." I hear Cas say with agony behind his words.
"O-okay, I'll uh, I'll get you to a hospital. Come on, let's get you up." I grab into to Castiel's good side and help him onto his feet. Placing his arm over my shoulders, I hear him pipe up.
"Dean...thank you, so much." He looks over at me with those clear, ocean-like, sapphire, blue eyes, and I see a slight smile on his lips.
"It's nothing Cas, I'm so sorry I didn't get there sooner, I could've prevented this from happening.." I look at Castiel, feeling tears roll down my face. I didn't even care at this point, I needed to get him to a hospital - fast.
We made our way to my Impala and I placed Cas in the passenger side seat. Quickly making my way over to the drivers side, I hopped in, started the engine, and drove as fast as I could to the nearest hospital.
"Cas, stay with me, you gotta hold on. We're almost there." I look over at Cas, noticing the blood covering his one hand over his side. I face toward the road again, pressing my foot down on the pedal with all my force.
"Dean...I just wanted you...to know...I-I think that...I have feelings for you..." Castiel says in a faint voice, I could hear the pain in his voice.
"Cas...just don't leave me, we're almost there. You're going to be ok, I promise you. I-I-I need you..."
