Fayette wasn't quite awake yet, but she could hear the voices from the people in the room,
"-Get on with it doctor!" A voice shouted harshly, but quivered a bit. "I'm sorry sir... She has a serious case of brain damage, it could take months for her to speak a clear sentance, let alone fly." Brain damage? she thought sadly, she knew something was wrong with her.
"What have they done to her?" Corbin's voice was strained as he stared at her small, fragile, body. "Major abuse, thats why I'm not dressed in my normal attire. Lab coats, or anything that could be related to that lab could scare her away. In fact, my theory is that her brain damage somehow saved her from being corrupt. We're still doing some tests." tests? she thought drearily.
"Crap, her heart spiked. She could be waking up, meaning that she could've just heard that," the doctors voice spoke panicky. "Make sure her food is ready, she needs to eat and feel comfortable." Corbin was horrified when her bloodshot eyes opened, fear clear through them.
The doctor left, knowing he'd make her uncomfortable. Corbin slowly walked towards Fayette, with his bare in front of her, showing that he had no weapon. She panted loudly, tears clouded her vision when she saw Corbin. Is he afraid?
"Afraid?" She croaked with sadness, looking into his eyes. He quickly shook his head, "I'm not afraid darling, I'm only going to help," he spoke slowly. She crinkled her eyebrows and tilted her head, why is he acting this way? He wasn't acting this way before.
He grabbed the tray on the nightstand and sat beside her with caution. She stared at the soup with an unknown expression, they never gave her soup, or crackers. "Do you like tomato soup? If not we have other soups over there." He nodded towards a tray with tons of food. Her jaw dropped.
That's a lot of food!
He lifted a spoon to her mouth, Does he think I'm an idiot? she thought, she fed herself in the laboratory, why can't she feed herself here? Her hands were sweaty and shaky. She sniffed the soup, searching for the scent of drug.
She pulled away and wrinkled her nose in disgust. He sighed, he should've known. Fairies can smell very good, she could smell her pain meds. "Please eat, darling, its just stuff to help your pain," He begged. She looked up with sad eyes.
"No," she spoke, a little bit clearer then her last word. "I swear, theres no bad drugs in there." she shook her head. He sighed and put the tomato soup on the nightstand, then grabbed potato soup.
She eyed it closely, then sniffed. No drugs. She smiled at him and he fed her a few bites, she also sipped some water. She shook her head and patted her stomach when he tried giving her another bite. He sighed and put the spoon in the bowl.
"Please eat more, you need to gain weight, its unhealthy." She furrowed her eyebrows, all the scientists called her fat. She thought she was fat, she believed them. "No." He sighed, thats one of the only words she has said since she woke up.
"Please, you need to get better," He pleaded. She shook her head, her eyes began to droop. "Tired," She whispered and laid her head back. Corbin sighed loudly, she needs to eat!
"Take two more bites then you can sleep." She pouted but obeyed, then fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
