Heroes Day (Part 1)

Gabriel was in the repository underneath his big white mansion, talking to his beloved wife who was lying unconscious in her capsule,as he was playing with his ring. 

  - Emili, you have no idea how hard it for me without you. It has been too long since I last saw your gorgeous green eyes gazing into mine.Recently I even lost the grimoire,one of the few memories you left me. Fortunately it was returned to me by one of our son's classmates. Very clumsy girl but I could tell she was sincerely sorry for taking it. Coincidentally, soon after that incident, new miraculous holders started showing up, like a fox themed superheroine, and even the daughter of our old friend Audrey, Chloè Bourgeois got the bee miraculous. I did manage to akumatize her and despite her being quite an exceptional opponent for Ladybug and Cat Noir, even she didn't manage to succeed. feel like I've done all I possibly could, you know? I'll never be able to fulfill my wish without Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous.Forgive me.She closed the door and looked at the painting portraying Emili. She knew what she had to do.

With these guilt driven words, Gabriel silently left the repository and sat down in one of the armchairs in the entrance hall.

Distraught, he took off his glasses and supported his forehead with his hand. 

Nathalie, who was about to tell him something decided to leave him alone and went in the office. She closed the door and looked at the painting portraying Emili. She knew what she had to do.  

The following day, the people all over Paris were celebrating the one year anniversary of Ladybug and Cat Noir. The superhero couple were not the only ones celebrated as the rest of the heroes, Rena Rouge, Queen Bee and Carapace were also celebrated.

  - Don't be bemused, it's just the news. This is Nadja Chamack, reporting live on the Hero's Day opening ceremony. In this exact moment, Mayor Bourgeois has begun his speech.

  -... It is with great pleasure that I declare the events of the first Hero's Day open!

  - You've just witnessed the grand opening of Hero's Day live! Don't forget, today is the day you don't need a cape to be a hero!

The crowd cheered and waved flags themed after the superheros. Children were running around with hero themed balloons

Ladybug and Cat Noir were on a rooftop, listening to the mayor's speech. 

  - Wow, I can't believe it has been a year since we fought Stone Heart. 

  - Yes, a year, and we still haven't defeated Hakw Moth. 

Cat Noir put his hand on Ladybug's shoulder. 

  - Have we ever failed to save anyone? 

  - No... 

  - Do you see anyone akumatized right now? 

  - No... 

  - See,everything is ok! We will defeat Hakw Moth soon, I am sure of it, but sometimes you need to loosen up and enjoy the good things while you can. 

  - Maybe you're right... 

  

Ladybug got closer to her boyfriend and he wrapped his arm around her as they watched Clara Nightingale sing on stage. 

In the meantime, Nathalie waited for Gabriel to leave his office to put her plan into motion. Lucky for her, he went to the repository. Now it was her chance to act. She opened the safe from behind Emili's portrait and took the peacock miraculous, then left.
