Chapter 9

Riley's pov:
The next day I decided to visit my mum. She knew about chase and she was supportive. She knew about beckys relationship with Tyler. Hey mum I said. She didn't hug me like she usually did. Hey what's up I asked. We need to talk she said. Okay I said. We went into the house as we sat down. I'm very short of money and I haven't been able to find a job so I was wondering if either you or Becky would marry a girl in your case and a boy in beckys case she said. Mum I do not like girls and I'm in a relationship so is Becky I said. But I would get the money she said. I'll need some time to think about it and Becky needs to know I said. Okay you have 48 hours to make your decision she said. I walked out. I went back to the cafe and saw my friends and I saw Becky and Tyler. They are so happy I thought. Hey rye Becky said as she hugged me. How was visiting your mum Tyler asked. Oh yeah there is something I need to tell you I said. What is it chase asked. Well my mum said she wants us to marry a random stranger I said. What Becky said. I tried telling her that we are both in a relationship but all she cared about was the money I said. She can't do this one of us will be happy and the other Becky said. Look you don't have to worry we will figure something out I'm sure we can just refused cuz
It's clear that we are both happy I said. Becky nodded as we hugged.

48 hours later:
Mum came in. Hey she said. Becky didn't say anything as she held Tyler close and I held chases hand. What is this she said. I'm sorry but we are both in relationships and we don't want to be miserable being someone we aren't I said. But I'll struggle If you don't help me she said. Look we will help you find another way  for you to survive but that isn't make your children miserable I said. Look mum I don't want you to be in this situation but I'm happy with tyler and Riley is happy with chase Becky said. You two are so ungrateful I have done everything for you and when I need a favor you refuse my mum said. Have you lose your mind I'm happy rye is happy you seriously want to mess that up because what you want is more important Becky said. But she said. Look you either let us live our lives who we are with and we can help you with your money issue or you can make us hate you riley  said. I'm sorry but I need the money she said as she grabbed me. Riley chase said. Let him go Becky said. I'm not taking you because you have a loving normal relationship but this one doesn't she said. My eyes were close to tears. You are hurting me I said. Oh shut up and come on she said as she pushed me out.

Beckys pov:
Riley I shouted. Becky Tyler said pulling me close. He's gone chase said. Shelby went to comfort him. She can't force him to marry can she chase asked. She can if she is really determined I said.

Riley's pov:
I had been locked in my room for weeks and weeks. I hadn't seen chase and my mum had been hitting me. I was in so much pain I couldn't even think about ever seeing chase again. I jumped as my mum unlocked the door. Your boyfriend is insisting on speaking to you I have to go to meet the family that we are working with you you have an 1 hour no funny buisness she said as she handed me the phone and walked out and locked the door.
Me: chase
Chase: omg Riley tell me where you are and I'll come and get you.
Me: I'm at my house but chase before you see me there is something you should know.
Chase: what?
Me: mum has been hitting me. And the bruises are bad are you sure you want to see me.
Chase: if she s abusing you that is more of a reason to come and rescue you.
Me: okay but just you no one else
Chase: okay.

Chases pov:
So where is he Becky asked. He's at your house but he only wants me to go I said. Why Tyler asked. Because your mum has been hitting him and the bruises are bad so I think he doesn't want you to worry about him I said. Okay I'll go get him I said as I walked out and found Riley's house. I then walked up and opened the door. His mum wasn't there so it was perfect to get him out. I knocked on Riley's bedroom door. Riley I asked. Chase he said. I can't open the door it's locked I said. The keys under the mat I said. I looked under the mat and saw the key I unlocked the door. I saw his face and I was shocked. I know he said. I just hugged him gently. Are you okay what happened I asked. I'm okay really she wanted me to marry my ex and I didn't really want to do she started hurting me he said. No wonder you don't want Becky seeing you I said. Let's just go I might as well get it over with he said.

Riley's pov:
I escaped from the house and got back to the museum. I walked into the cafe. Chase Shelby said. So Becky asked. I turned around. Riley Becky said. Oh my god Shelby said. Becky hugged me. Hey it's okay I said. You don't look okay Becky said. I'm fine they look fresh but they are old I said. So are you marrying the girl Becky asked. Of course not why do you think I'm here I said. Mum then came storming in I ran to the kitchen and his behind the counter. Where is Riley she said. Mum what do you mean you have him Becky said. No I leave I come back he's gone she said. Too bad Tyler said. I then heard some shuffling. No Becky said. Where are you Riley I know you are are here she said. Don't do this Becky said. I heard her voice trembling. I stood up. That's it she said. I saw her with a knife to Tyler's throat. Mum please don't do this I said. Then come back with me she said. I can't do that I said. She then turned Tyler around and was about to stab him. No I said as I managed to push Tyler out of the way just as she stabbed me in my side. Riley chase shouted as he ran to my side. Becky was kneeling beside me as well. Call an ambulance chase said. Tyler was then calling an ambulance I then started to close my eyes. No no don't Becky said. Don't close your eyes chase said. I couldn't keep them open and I slipped into darkness.
