Topic: Gods that exist in this world.
In this world, all of these gods are known to exist and every person chooses which god(s), if any, they want to honor / worship. Here is a basic list of all gods that exist in the pantheon. This does not include gods connected to specific places, eg. rivers, cemeteries, etc. as those are more demi-gods or spirits as opposed to the true gods. These entities are known as godkins.
The pantheon is overseen by the three sisters.
The eldest is Auoriia, goddess of space, the universe, broad justice, politics / leadership, etc. She is usually depicted as an ageless woman of about 7 feet tall, with skin the color of the northern lights, white eyes, and a hoodless teal cape.
The middle sister is Kitea, goddess of nature and life. She is usually depicted as a young girl surrounded by jungle plants and/or animals, especially big cats. The race and features of the girl change drastically from image to image, but she almost always has one eye missing, covered by an eye patch, is blind in one eye, or has one eye colored differently to the other. The reason her eye is damaged or different varies from telling to telling, but often she either lost it in a fight or ripped it out herself as some part of ritual or spell, or to assist some hapless mortal.
The youngest sister is Nixha, goddess of death, balance, cycles, the night, etc. She is usually depicted as a six foot tall(ish) woman with pitch black skin, silver eyes, long flowing silver hair, black robes, and a staff made of black wood with an enormous pearl set into it. It is said that if you look out the window late at night, you may see her gliding along outside. If you do and she locks eyes with you, she will either put you to sleep until the morning or leave you awake, and if you are left awake, you are blessed by her.
Each sister governs a list of minor gods, avatars, and godliveds. Minor gods are just that, gods of "smaller" concepts; not one of the three sisters. An avatar is a mortal that a god chooses to aide and give abilities/gifts to so that the avatar will help the god with some sort of quest or task, usually temporary. Godliveds are a step up from avatars. Mythical beings, once mortal, whose mortality was sacrificed (willingly or unwillingly) to a certain god or gods. Unlike avatars, they live indefinitely and have a greater purpose of some sort that they stick to. Unlike gods, they constantly have a physical form and can be interacted with. Godliveds are discussed more in the "Surrendered" pts. one and two.
