Silence. Such a weird feeling when you're completely plunged into it. From the chaotic chatters of a group of girls to the deafening sound of nothingness. That's exactly what happened when Ruby dramatically entered her own room after insisting that's how it must be executed.
"Hope you're all feeling brave." A smug look paints Ruby's face as some of the girls begin to look rather scared. Me and the girls try not to give anything away, it would satisfy her way too much. Finally, Lola, her 'side bitch' actually speaks and I'm not even joking I think this is the first time I've heard her voice.
"Tonight you will all be assigned with, lets just call them 'pranks' to complete." Eyes begin to dart around to each other figuring out if we're all thinking and feeling the same.
Zoe, a quite petite girl with a jet black pixie haircut, speaks out. Or should I say whispers. "How risky are we talking? Are they like dangerous?"
"If you mean in terms of endangering life then no. But they are designed to test your limits, your relationships and where your loyalties lie. The rules are simple:
DO NOT discuss your prank with any of the other teammates or anyone outside of this room, it is for your ears only.
DO NOT snitch. If you want to be a pussy and bail, do it without ruining everyone else's fun.
You HAVE to get a photo or video or any other form of evidence to PROVE you completed the prank as most of them no one else will be with you to vouch for you.
I think that's it? " Ruby looks at Sadie and Lola for confirmation. My mind begins to spin at the thoughts of where tonight could lead, already knowing how much Ruby hates me, I'm sure my tasks will not end well.
"We will begin starting with Sara. Everyone else please go back to your own rooms and you will be collected once we are ready for you." Sadie explains. We all begin to stand except for Sara who has now turned quite pale and make our way out of the door and down the hall.
"So I know she just explained that we can't discuss our pranks but she's not going to check our phones so please text in the group chat if you need help or if it is serious. I feel like she's the type to make us do pranks on each other and I'm not risking our friendship to feed her weird games." Cassie looks genuinely worried, making my stomach twist. I feel like I know Ruby but when it truly comes down to it, Mia and Cassie have grown up with her, they have seen what she can do and the fact that they're this worried takes my anxiety to a whole new level.
"But what if we get caught?" I question.
"We just have to only do it if it's really urgent. But if one of you girls needs anything I'd drop being a Titan to help you every damn day." Mia explains. We say our goodbyes and I let out a snicker at the genuine dramatics going into all of this, I'm just glad I'm not alone.
I collapse onto my bed, exhausted emotionally and physically. My experience with pranks has never ended well and in a way has affected me when it comes to making friends and having trust issues with these said friends. My version of a prank would be whipped cream on someone's hand and a feather up their nose, I just have a feeling their visions are much more devious...
Knock. Knock. Knock.
I open my eyes to the sound. Disorientated, I stumble to the door, not realising I dozed off. In panic, I check my phone to make sure the girls haven't needed me whilst I was asleep, luckily there are no new messages.
I slowly opened my door, not really sure who I was expecting on the other side. It shouldn't have been so much who but more so what I should've been expecting. A gift box wrapped annoyingly well, placed directly outside of my door with a label stuffed in the ribbon.
I pick up the box which feels like it weighs almost nothing. I gently touch the label with my fingers and turn it over and read:
Now it's your turn to be on the other end of a prank.
Bitch.
I close the door behind me and place the box on the bed. Gently, I take off the lid and involuntarily jump back and laugh at the fact I thought something was going to jump out at me. I peek inside to see a video recorder. My first thought is that this is what they want me to use to tape my evidence with but then I see a note inside.
Watch me
Curisoity seeps through my entire body. The one thing I trust the most in this entire world and what every woman should trust is their gut. I always get immense spirutal feelings when I know something is bad, it's like a sixth sense and I think its a girl thing and right now; I've never felt it more strongly. In response, I pick up the camera and take a deep breath and press play.

AHHHHH I'm sorry for the cliffhanger xoxox sorry for being MIA too but I genuinely hate putting pressure on myself and I write this story for fun and as an escape so I feel like if I begin making it feel like a chore I won't enjoy writing it anymore so my main aim is just to write whenever I'm inspired :))) Also place your bets on what you think is on the video... winner gets a kith
