*Venables POV*

I roam around the hallways. I don't even try to go unnoticed. My cane always gives away my arrival, to try and hide would be unfruitful. To my left and right there are numerous employees in their offices, doing their work. I could watch them all through the glass walls, but I stare straight ahead hoping not to catch anyone's attention. It feels like I'm moving through an anthill and just now I am approaching their queen. What am I thinking, she is also my queen if I want to keep this job. However she is not going to turn me into one of those mindless working ants.

I am desperately thinking about how I can manage to convey the required information to her without losing my dignity in the process. It's going to be a challenge, but I am willing to take it, it's not like I have a choice. I take a deep breath before knocking on that door again.

*Y/N POV*

"Twice in one day... To what do I owe the pleasure of your graceful presence down here in my little kingdom for the second time today?" I ask with a mischievous smile. I'm gonna make you squirm.

"Don't look so pleased with yourself, I'm still waiting for someone to come and tell me this is a joke, but it appears that I was not given all the information required prior to my former visit..."

"Meaning..." I give her the possibility to answer, but she remains silent," ... you were wrong..." I press her nerves, which she tries to dismiss.

"Your office will be..." she trails off, ignoring my former comment...

"Say it," I interrupt her.

"Excuse me?" She acts like she doesn't know what I am talking about, but she can't fool me.

"Say you were wrong," I say calmly, like speaking to a toddler.

"What are you 5 years old?" she asks, my tone obviously hit a nerve.

"5 year olds don't mind saying they are sorry..." I let out a massive grin knowing I am taking her out of her comfort zone. Maybe I am being overly mean now, but at the end of the day she brought it on herself.

"Your office will be on the penthouse floor," she starts burping out facts without acknowledging my request, "you're entitled to the house adjacent if you choose to move in. Your security cards and passwords will be renewed...." As my new assistant kept talking, laying out relevant information on the table, I spot through the glass, two of the most recent employees of my department staring and pointing at Ms Venable's back without noticing me.

"I'm so sorry to interrupt you..." I say to Ms Venable with a serious face still focusing on the guys and approaching the doors.

"Are you really?" Ms Venable strikes back, noting that my attention hasn't been on her for a few seconds now, and taking that as disrespectful.

"You two, come here!" I yell out the door pointing to the employees. They look at me with a mix of surprise and terror, being torn out of their funny conversation, as if I had burst their bubble.

"I'm not done here..." Venable yells. "How dare you dismiss me like that?"

She is not used to being sidelined like that, I get that. But now is not the time to caress her ego, I think and still have my eyes on the two men, who now look like they have been caught with a hand in the cookie jar.

"I didn't tell you to leave... Did I?" I shortly say to her direction and Venable scoffs.

As both workers enter the room I ask bluntly, "Looks like you had a rather funny conversation back there, may I ask what you were laughing about?"
