*Y/n's POV*

Slowly waking up I stretch myself in the bed, hoping to find my lover's warmth next to me. I am disappointed, because Wilhemina's bedside is empty. Leaning myself on my elbows I scan the room. Lilac is nowhere to be seen either. Before I get to wonder where my girls are, I hear Mina's voice from downstairs. Because of the closed doors I can't understand what she is saying, but I can tell that she is using her cute voice. I smile to myself, she is talking to Lilac....

Eager to see what got my lover out of bed this early, I throw on a rope and walk down the stairs quietly. What I witness then will forever be the cutest thing I've ever seen. The completely black kitten is sitting on the living room table and in front of her, kneels a barely dressed mina, with messy bed hair and only her pyjamas on. She doesn't notice my presence, because her back is facing me.

"Meh," Lilac says and holds her head crooked.

"Noo, Lilac.. that's not what cats say," Minas explains and I have a hard time not to laugh at the scene in front of me.

"Try it again... 'meow'..." Mina demonstrates, but the kitten just looks at her confused.

"Meh," the kitty says again, letting it sound more like a question this time.

"Meow," Mina replies.

"Meh," Lilac says one last time and then with a confident jump, lands on Mina's shoulder. The redhead gets up from her kneeling position, groaning.

"Urgh... you are as stubborn as..." she says, turning around and now noticing me leaning in the doorframe, "oh.. hi..." she interrupts herself feeling caught, "how long have you been standing there?"

"Long enough to tell you that you are not giving her the right incentive," I chuckle and she frowns, looking towards the little kitten on her shoulder.

"Meow for ham, Lilac!" I say enthusiastically. And with a perfectly pronounced "Meow" the cat jumps off Mina's shoulder and follows me casually into the kitchen.

"I knew she could do it," Mina exclaims, "how did you know what to say?"

"Every kitten is born knowing what ham means," I explain with a grin on my face, "I was born and raised with many around the house."

"I envy you," she says, "I would have loved to have a cat, growing up... But my parents never allowed it. And after I moved out, I got the job at Kineros and I've been too busy for a cat... at least I thought so... "

"Well," I say, kissing her forehead, "you have one now... and she already adores you."

"She may adore me, but she listens to you," she chuckles and I walk towards the fridge.

"What are you doing?" she asks curiously.

"Keeping my promise. The little one earned her ham," I say and hand Mina the ham, "here, give it to her."

While the little kitten enjoys her ham, I notice how Minas eyes show a little sadness.

"Is everything ok, Mina?" I ask concerned.

"I just realized that she will be alone all day... when we are at work I mean..." she explains.

"I may have an idea for that..." I answer. "We did buy a carrier and a leash... it wouldn't be hard to take her to work in the morning, she can have her own purple wall-set back at work... she can walk around the interior gardens... you can leave the bottom of the carrier permanently in the car and she'll be with you the whole time... Office cat..." I say enthusiastically while lilac jumps onto Mina's shoulder again and Mina looks at me endeared.
