Tommy and I walk back to where Tubbo and Ranboo are doing homework. I look at Tommy then look back at the duo, he realizes that I don't want to be the one to bring it up so I'm making him do it. I don't know why but we always have silent arguments he wins most of the time and this was no different. I guess its time for me to explain.

Ranboo looks confused. Its kind of funny how you can see his emotions even though he wears a mask.

"He has been asking me to explain what Tommy meant by who is racing tonight. Please tell me you have been okayed to tell him." Tubbo says tiredly.

"You have to be okayed to tell me?" Ranboo asks. "Is it that secretive?"

"Well now you get to know why its so secretive and why we don't tell a lot of new people." I say to him.

"Most of the people in this shop are mechanics for a street racing group." I have always explained it quietly so no one else can hear, just a habit I guess. "Some are newer, some have stuck around for a while but something we all have in common is that we all raced at one point in our lives and that is what has lead us here."

"Did you actually race at one point or did I meet you after that?" Tubbo asks me.

"I used to, I'm considering trying again but that's a conversation for another time." I look back at Ranboo to see his eyes have gone wide and he seems to be taking in all the information that has been given to him. "Ranboo, you okay?"

"Yeah, just to learn that your best friend does something illegal on a weekly basis is a bit hard to understand. I thought you all were good law abiding people but you guys are really deceptive."

"Its a nightly basis actually," Tubbo replies

"You do this NIGHTLY?!" Tall people don't scare me but ones that are protective over their short best friends are a different story.

"It's not like all of us are in danger, just the racers." I say.

"Which of you are racers?" He sounds so stressed out by this.

"I am," Tommy says.

"I race sometimes" Tubbo replies.

"I haven't raced for awhile but I used to race nightly, most people don't do that." I tell him. "Most race 3-5 times a week."

"I don't even know what to say. I didn't think this is what you meant by asking who was racing tonight." I feel bad for telling him all of this.

"Well, I guess you know all of it now." I say. "If you want to know more just come find me, I'll be in the auto-body section of the shop."

"Oh okay," he seems surprised by my offer.

"Umm, hello," I hear someone say behind me.

"Oh, hello again," I say not looking up for a moment. "You have some questions for me, I assume."

"Yes, I- I do." He is really nervous.

"Okay, what do you want to know?" I invited him to sit on the floor with me.

He sits down in front of me. "How did you get into racing?" Ah, such a good first question.

"Well Sam brought me to a race. I asked him why we were there so he told me. The reason we were there was for me to try out racing. He told me if I didn't want to I didn't have to. I told him I didn't have a vehicle to race so he offered to let me race the warden. I said I would try it. I did and I enjoyed so I went back. Eventually it became a nightly thing for me, I don't really remember when that happened. So that's kind of how it happened." That was a lot to say.

"Okay, how old were you when you started racing?"

"15."

"Wow, interesting." Is he actually interested in all of this. Maybe I can convince him to race but that might be for another time. "You mentioned you don't race anymore, why?"

I almost don't want to answer, the only person who really knows why I stopped is Sam. "I almost got myself killed one race." Its not a complete lie just not the whole truth.

"Oh, how if you don't mind me asking?" He really does want to push it.

"I don't really want to get into right now, it was something dumb on my part." I'm trying not to be to harsh, he's new I don't want him to be scared of me.

"Okay, that's fine." He pauses right before he leaves. "I have one more question."

"Hmm?"

"Is there any chance I could become a racer?" He seems genuinely interested.

"If you are willing to then yes, you can be a racer." I get up from my spot on the floor and lead him toward the garage. "How soon do you want to start?"

"Whenever I can."

"Well, I guess I'll go get my keys."
