Caterina Romano was unsure of nearly everything in her life. She was unsure about her place in her family, who held one of the most respected families in prestigious pureblood society. She was unsure about her beliefs, never really believing in the blood prejudged narrative that'd been forced on her since she could remember. However, if there was anything Caterina was sure about in the confusing world she was born into, it was her best friend, Regulus Black.

The two had grown up together, along with his older brother Sirius, whom Cat loved like he was her blood. When Sirius returned home from his first year at Hogwarts, he came to the young girl with ideas far beyond anything she'd ever imagined, claiming muggles weren't as bad as they'd been taught. Caterina was fascinated, wanting deeply to learn more about Sirius' endeavors, though was quickly whisked away by a frowning Regulus, who assured her his brother was going mad, calling his ideas outlandish and shameful.

Four years later, Caterina now knew what Sirius had meant when he explained the world beyond her parents' ideals. Still, she was a young woman in the pureblood world, leaving her without a voice. At least she had Regulus, right?

There was no doubt Caterina was completely devoted to the boy, having been in love with the Black son since childhood. Still, as she watches him fall deeper and deeper into the hateful affairs of the Dark Lord, Cat can't help but question if she's enough to change the love of her life's ways or if she'd make it out alive if she stuck by him as she'd promised.

AUTHOR'S NOTE. hello hello! after the photos of timothée and his slytherin sweater it felt illegal not to write a regulus book. i feel as though i should clarify; the chances of cat and regulus getting their happy ending is SO LOW like i have all of act one planned out and some of act two and let's just say .. cat deserves better

i also want to clarify that sirius and cat do NOT have any romantic feelings towards one another!! sirius is sirius so he's probably going to make suggestive comments but that is as far as that will go. they do have a lot of soft (and emotion/heartbreaking, but that comes later) moments, but they are like siblings! please don't ship them!!
