"at least she knows the truth," megumi replied.

"you don't understand ! she looked so lost and she immediately dashed out that door. she must be very disappointed, with the fact that you also said i like another guy !"

megumi sat there in dismay. he's never seen anyone that concerned about someone else's feelings. megumi realised that he had also hurt Midori's feelings, but he didn't really give a damn about it. it's her decision that she ran away instead of letting itadori finish explaining.

"look- i'm sorry. i should've been more careful with my words," megumi apologised.

he looked at itadori for any response. the only thing he saw was itadori pinching the bridge of his nose. megumi wanted to continue speaking, but he was afraid he'd make itadori more frustrated than he was, so he kept quiet.

"no. you shouldn't be sorry. i-i'm sorry, i just bursted out my anger on you," itadori sighed.

They sat there, in complete silence. neither one of them knew what to say, afraid of hurting each other's feelings again.

"fuck this, let's go and get coffee, my treat," Itadori suggested.

Megumi sat across Itadori. Worry was still plastered on Itadori's face but Megumi knew he tried his best to hide it. With a final sip, Megumi placed his drink back on the table and looked at him.

"you need to shake that negativity off you," Megumi sighed.

"what negativity ? i'm fine," Itadori let out a chuckle.

"i've known you for years, don't lie to me,"

"alright. honestly, i am still disappointed in what i've done to her. however, there's nothing i can do, at least our relationship wouldn't be one-sided love," itadori smiled to himself, masking the fact that he still feels guilty.

megumi let out a chuckle. He knew itadori's not relaxed, but he didn't want to push him into explaining any further. instead, he was curious about something else.

"putting that aside, who's that guy you like ?" megumi asked.

"no," itadori replied immediately.

megumi raised an eyebrow, hoping for an actual answer. in response to what megumi did, itadori looked away and avoided his eye contact.

"come on, be a man."

"you'll know, soon. just- not now. amazing things happen to people who are patient, that's what you said."

"oh fuck off."

megumi rolled his eyes to which itadori laughed. megumi was glad that itadori's mood has lightened and he wasn't too anxious. he didn't realise it, but his lips curved into a smile at the sight of itadori.
