Xerina's POV
It was the middle of the night when we heard banging at the door and yelling, I got up from my bed and saw my parents answering the door to see a guard in the Fire Nations Royal uniform. I walk closer to hear what was being said and they noticed me, the guard steps forward into the house wet from the pouring rain.
"Xerina, your presence has been ordered from Prince Zuko...he wishes for your immediate assistance so if you'll please come with me" the guard states kindly and hurriedly
I nod
"Of course, but may I get dressed first?" I ask
"Yes but make it quick" He states
I throw on my clothes and a hooded cape to keep the rain off of me as I go back to my parents and the guard who are still at the door.
"I'm ready" I state as I follow the guard
"This way then" He states
"I'll be back later!" I call to my parents
They only nod with a half smile, I can tell they're nervous but I'm not in the least...but that soon changes after I get to Zuko.
He brings me through the gates, into the palace and straight to Zuko's room, he knocks.
"Prince Zuko, I've brought Xerina as requested" He states
"Let her in and leave us" Zuko states angrily
"of course Prince Zuko" He states as he lets me inside and closed the door behind me
The room was dark, but I could see the out line of the huge bed in the center of the room, the window was very big and some light from the moon was able to get into the room casting large shadows all over the place, as I went closer to the bed I could hear Zuko breathing heavily.
"Prince Zuko?" I ask cautiously
"Xerina...come over here" Zuko orders
I come closer to see him sitting up and back against the front of the bed with his legs pulled into his chest.
My heart sinks
"What happened?" I ask wondering
I climb onto the bed and pull him into me, giving him a long hug. He refused to tell me what was wrong, he didn't say a word so all I could do was sit there with him to be a comfort. Thunder struck and lightning made the room light up for a second long enough to see he'd been crying, I stroke his head as I hum a quiet song.
After he falls asleep I put him back under the covers and grab a chair from the corner and pull it onto the bedside, I stay beside him until dawn breaks.
Zuko's POV
I heard the news my mother was gone, they didn't tell me where she went or what happened to her ....I tried to drop the subject but it began to haunt me and I had nightmares of what could of possibly happened. Azula comes into my room and taunts that she abandoned me and didn't care for me, that she left because I'm useless and weak...
I clentch my fists
"Azula always lies, Azula always lies, Azula always lies!" I repeat to myself trying to get her words out of my head
Thunder strikes and I push up against the front of my bed, mother is gone and there's no one who understands me now.....no.....there is someone left.
"Guards!" I yell
"Yes Prince Zuko" the guard states
"Bring me Xerina! This Instant, I require her assistance!" I yell demanding-ly
