We reach Chandigarh, we hail a taxi to reach to our new abode in this new city.
I had already talked to the broker to keep the flat ready & lease paper too.

Once we reach our destination I pay the fare & take our belongings. We're welcomed by Vicky, Babli Di's college friend, though the duo didn't keep much in touch after Di's marriage but Vicky has been like an elder brother to me more than my real one, Raja Bhaiya.

Vicky is accompanied by broker since he too lives in the same city & only person I know here. They shows us through the flat & I must say it's really accommodable & affordable in the tight budget that I have.

It's a 2BHK flat, fully furnished that too in a decent locality of Chandigarh near to the places I'm gonna work for an year as of now until next academic year - when I would be applying for my PhD.

I must say Vicky has an eye for great things, I mean this flat was his choice. Since he lived here, I seeked his help for finding us a place to live, not only this he paid the advance too & prepared a lease for us. Even though I was reluctant at first, but he convinced me, as I really don't have much amount in my hand to even go through the monthly expenses this time let alone to pay the rent.

The broker hands me the paper & I sign the lease, along with me my mother & sister too do so as it's a joint lease on our name.

After the formalities broker takes our leave. Vicky talks with my sister, my mother and I start arranging our things.

After an hour or so Vicky & Babli Di go out stating some work, while me & Mummyji are still unpacking & keeping things & arranging them accordingly.

"Nikki, this house is so good, it must have costed a lot na ? " She asks.

" No, Mummyji it's really affordable. Vicky has chosen this place & he really did a commendable job. " I tell her.

" Of course Vicky seems to be a nice guy. But how do you know him ? I mean you never came here & he lives here & he's helping us out a lot too ! " She interrogates.

" He's Babli Di's college friend, he used to live in Kapurthala only, recently he shifted here few months back. He owns a event management company here. " I answer.

" He's Babli's friend ? I never knew this... It's so strange na while looking after home I didn't even make time to know about my own children ! " She says.

" Mummyji actually ... " Before I could tell Mummyji about their history the main door opens & Vicky & Babli Di enter with a lot of packets in hands.

" Oye Anokhi, Auntyji before everything fill your tummies & have some rest, you people travelled & have working since so long, you must be hungry. " Vicky called out to us.

" Haan, we've brought a lot of food, Vicky knows a lot about the city, he's brought the speciality foods of Chandigarh. " Babli Di beams, she's cheerful after so long, really by just being with some people everything feels alright.

Vicky & Babli Di were in love before Papaji fixed her marriage with that monster Vineet. Infact the duo worked together & Di had a good income too but alas she too was forced into hell by our very own father.
