"This isn't safe for you." I worried, squeezing Sanses forearm. "There's to many masked people."

"It's a masquerade party." Sans chortled. "We'll be aight."

I fixed the mask properly on my face and smoothed the red dress. The mask was the same one I had on when I hired Sans. Sans matched my attire with skinny dress pants, boots, and a black button-up.

When he'd glided down the stairs with a yawn, I just stared. 'You look good.' I had smiled. He grinned back at me. 'Is it wrong this used to be part of my old getup?'

I glanced up at him with his lazy, but intimidating presence, surveying the crowd of colorful masks.

I steeled myself and trudged onward into the ocean of people. My chest felt like it was going to cave with the familiar setting. Fancily dressed people, dancing and drinking. I hung closer to Sanses side as we pulled through people.

It's different now. I have people on my side. At least, I think I do... I hope.

"Let's get a drink and wait until ya pal makes his appearance." Sans said. His voice was almost drowned in the noise but I nodded and let him lead us towards the bar in the back of the venue.

Sans ordered himself a beer, flashing a fake ID. I stuck with a Coke. It was easier for me to get my drink spiked if I got an actual drink in a beer glass. The screw-on top would be so much better.

"Don't look so gloomy." He bumped my shoulder. "Knight in shining armor, remember?"

I gave him a feeble smile. "Men are usually jerks at parties like this."

"I'll rip their throats out." He winked, his eyes blinking black for only me to see.

I took a sip of my soda and focused on the icy carbonation in my mouth. I held my head up high and gazed around the room as two men arm-an-arm walked through the door closest to us.

They were both lankey. The first boy had long hair pulled back into a half-bun with freckles, and orange tinted eyes. He had on black eyeliner and a white suit. The one beside him was wearing a golden button up tucked into black pants, a black tie with slick brown shoes. Yellow eyeshadow dusted the corners of his eyes, surrounded by winged eyeliner. His red eyes were glued to the man beside him with a caring gaze. His cheeks grew pink as he smiled back at the black haired boy. His brown fluffy hair was flung around carelessly.

I found myself gliding towards him, pushing people away from me without a second thought. "Chara?!" I called out.

He looked at me and a pleasant smile spread across his lips. "Hello."

It seemed like more of a question than a greeting. I grinned at his gravelly voice. It still sounded like honey somehow.

"I'll love you as long as the wild buttercups grow." I said softly. "Remember?"

He jerked his head towards me with a puzzle look.

The man beside him cleared his throat. "Do we know you?" His voice was like crashing waves. It filled every space with calm dominance. "I don't remember ever meeting you before."

Chara patted the man's shoulder and stepped forward. We fold our hands together, threw hand signs, and finished off with a snap. Our handshake since 3rd grade.

"It's been effing years!" He pulled me into a hug and cupped my face. "Wait, how the hell are you here, you little sh#t?! You've been ki-!"

I smashed my hand over his mouth. "Big misunderstanding. It's not the time."

He hugged me again, planting a kiss on my cheek. "You little sh#t!"

He turned towards crashing waves and grinned. "This is my boyfriend, Torah." A ruffled my hair. "And this is my very best homie, uh Rana."
