Shaira's Escapade [COMPLETED]

Chapter 1

Another day has come. It's a new day to learn something new.

There is a girl named Shaira, an average student in her school. She loves to read books and buy books, both fictional and educational.

Even if she loves to read, there is one subject that even many times she reads and tries to learn something from it, but in the end, she loses hope.

"Did you read the announcement posted by our school's page yesterday?" Her friend, Layla whispered.

"No? And why are we whispering?" Shaira answered with a confused tone in her voice.

"I just wanted to." Layla playfully answered.

Layla suddenly tapped the shoulders of Shaira and said, "Oh! I will be back after a couple of minutes!" Then she left as fast as the lightning struck.

Shaira just shrugged her shoulders and kept on walking. When she arrived in front of her classroom window, she saw an unfamiliar person sitting on the teacher's chair in front of the whiteboard. 

She got confused because she is not her Biology teacher for her first period. She just let it be and went inside the classroom without any hesitation.

After the bell rang, as a sign that the first period would start, the new teacher started to introduce herself to the class. 

"Good morning, everyone. I am teacher Kieth. I will be your temporary Biology teacher from today until next week. If you haven't read the post yesterday, teacher Siena has a sudden meeting with the other teachers from the other school. So, without further ado, let's begin our class."

After her self-introduction, she started to discuss the brief introduction of the Cell Theory Timeline. Then she excitedly showed the replica of the first compound microscope invented by Zacharias Jansen with his father Hans. She told her class to come forward so that they could see the replica clearly. When everyone is already near the replica, she suddenly announced that there will be a short individual reporting about the Cell Theory timeline on Monday next week.

After that, she said goodbye to everyone and when she was about to leave the classroom, Shaira politely stopped her and asked, "Teacher, can I ask if our school's library has a specific book only for Cell Theory timeline?"

"Hmmm...interesting." she whispered to herself. She did not hesitate to tell her the old library that was rarely visited by the students because it was located at the furthermost part of the highest floor of the school. Shaira genuinely thanked her teacher before she went back to her seat.

The classes for today flew faster than before. Shaira did not waste any time, she said goodbye to her friend Layla and went immediately to the old library. After arriving, she greeted the old librarian with a smile on her face, then the old librarian smiled back at her. Shaira politely asked the old librarian about the book she was looking for. The old librarian carefully explained the direction where she could find the bookshelf where the Cell Theory Timeline was. Then, she politely thanked the old librarian and went ahead to find the book.

When she was searching for the book, she found out that there was an open door at the corner of the library. She got curious and without any doubt, she went towards the door.

Shaira was surprised when she found out that the door would lead to an old Biology laboratory. While she was abruptly exploring the place, she felt that it was wrong for her to suddenly enter a laboratory without any consent. But then an old bookshelf caught her attention. She read one of the titles and discovered that it was the Cell Theory Timeline that she was looking for. She had the urge to get the book from the shelf and open it, so she did and started to read the first page.

While Shaira was reading, she didn't notice the texts were slowly disappearing. All of a sudden she felt the urge to sleep. As she closed her eyes, the book started to glow.

Afterward, she slowly opened her eyes and then she was shocked that the laboratory's equipment and furniture became too old. "What just happened?" she confusingly asked herself. She decided to walk through the next door where she saw the dim light that caught her attention.
