Liam stands in silence.

He can hear footsteps and then someone is offering him some water to drink. Even though he is looking at the ground, he knows just by looking at those hands that it's his favourite servant.

His favourite person in his big empty house. He won't call it home because it doesn't feel like one. It had stopped feeling one when his mother left.

After that, he never once felt he belonged in the place where he was living. It still surprises him how he was once so happy in the same place. But nothing lasts forever and Liam realised it the day he turned 16.

It was the same day that it was presented as an Omega.

And after that, everything drastically changed in his life. His father no longer looked at him in the same way. At first, Liam thought that it's impossible for his father to be angry at him and that even if he's angry at him, it will pass. That everything was for some time and then one day he will see the same proud look in his father's eyes.

But that day never came.

Apparently, nothing else matters to the old man more than who Liam is presented as. The moment he got to know that Liam is not an Alpha, all the love and care the other had had for him, vanished. Which made Liam think that maybe at the end of the day, he was a nobody. That no one really cares for his existence.

His mother genuinely tried to support him but she was tied to her alpha and their bond was something which she couldn't go against. And it turned worse when the old man started showing his anger on her.

Some nights Liam would just wake up to the sound of his mother's screams and he couldn't do anything other than press his ears to the door and cry along with her.

It wasn't that he was weak. He was strong both mentally and physically. But it's about the fact that he's an Omega and there are parts of it, where Omegas are naturally submissive to Alphas. Even if he tried to fight, his mind tells him that it's of no use.

And one day, when he heard his mother's words, which were apparently her last words to him, telling him to run away from this awful place, he realised one more thing.

Love doesn't exist.

Liam's thoughts are interrupted when he hears his father clear his throat.

"So, are you sure that you want to attend college?"

"Yes Father."

"Why outside here though? You can look for some here if you want to go to college that badly!"

"I- I want to go there only"

"It's not because you want to escape from me, right?"

A shiver ran down through Liam's spine when he heard that.

"N- no Father."

"Good! It's not like you can go on your own anyway!"

Liam stays silent at that.

"And also who would want an Omega like you? I mys-"

"I won't do any such thing, Father."

He didn't want to hear the rest of the sentence. He has been hearing the same thing for a long time now. And every time it hurts more than the previous time.
