Marcus pov

After I finished talking to Valentina, she said she had something to do so I opened the bathroom door and let her walk out first.

Before she left, she looked at me and cupped my cheek gently before giving me a smile.

She then walked away as I watched her.

Not in a creepy way.

I began walking the opposite way as I but before I could get any further, I saw Maria walking towards my direction with a black eye.

I furrowed my eyebrows and asked,"Maria, what happened?".

She looked at me with tears in her eyes,"It-It's nothing Marcus, he said he was gonna' do alot worse to you".

I was confused at first before I realised who she was talking about,"Chico did this? Why?".

"He said he was getting tired of me and once you were out of the way, he'd leave me and have her to himself" she managed to get out as she sobbed.

I questioned further,"What? Who?".

She looked at me with a knowing look as I realised who.

Valentina.

That son of a bitch.

I was so angry that I immediately shoved past Maria not bothering to listen to her calls as I made my way to the courtyard.

As I opened the doors, I saw Chico with his gang,"Hey!".

He looked up the same time that I thrusted my fist into his face, I stumbled back a bit from the force.

All of his friends backed up to not get in the middle.

Chico then stood wiping away some blood that began to drip from his nose as he laughed,"Good on you. Taking the initiative".

One of his friends shoved me forward as I tried to punch Chico again but he ducked causing me to stumble a bit.

Chico raised up his middle fingers at me,"What's up?".

The cartel members around started to encourage the fight, "C'mon Chico, fuck him up!".

I tried to punch him again but he caught my arm and headbutted me.

My vision got blurry as I fell back abit as I was pushed against the wall.

Chico pushed a knife against my neck and screamed,"Say Chico's the man and you're his bitch!".

I didn't say anything so he punched me in the stomach.

I let out a groan and looked into his eyes and said,"You're just a dickless,rich kid in a prep school playing the role that daddy assigned. You got something to lose. I don't. I fought a guy that carves people up for fun".

I then smiled,"You're just a poser".

His attitude was visibily rattled as he shifted on his feet before he slammed me into the wall once again,"You really think they'll kick me out for gutting a Rat".

I gave him a smirk, my eyes filled with craziness and anger, "Go on then, show em, come on".

I grabbed his hand that held the knife and put it on my neck daring him to kill me.

When he hesitated, I screamed,"Do it!".

Suddenly a voice boomed through the courtyard,"Enough!".

Master Lin stood on the top porch glaring down at us.

Chico released me, fixing my jacket,"Good job, you're learning".

He then looked towards Master Lin and continued his lie,"Just having a friendly spar with my new amigo".

He looked back at me slapping my face playfully before getting in my face,"Get some rest, Marcus. We'll finish this later" He then spat on the ground near my shoes and yelled,"Vamanos!" to his crew as they all left the courtyard.

I then looked at Master Lin with anger as I shouted,"Fuck this place!".

I picked up my bag and then left.

Valentina is gonna be so pissed.
