The evening felt like it had gone on forever, I'd laid here, staring at the wall through the darkness as I felt numb inside my chest. I didn't know what the future held for me and John, he acted like he didn't care, but I was inside his house, tucked up in bed and safe. He saved my life, he didn't even think about it, he didn't have to. I slowly sit up, checking the clock beside the bed. It was almost three in the morning. I rub my eyes tiredly, the house was so silent and it freaked me out somehow. I stand up, before heading downstairs to put on the kettle and make coffee. The light turns on, I turned to see John sat in the armchair, he looked up at me. "Fuck." I jumped, as stayed silent. "What are you doing?" He asked. "Making coffee. I can't sleep." He sighed gently. "Come and sit with me." His voice was super deep, since it was early morning. "I think I'll stand. Thanks." He glared at me, "Sit down." He growled. My stomach dropped, as I slowly sat down, looking at the darkness. "Why are you up so early?" I asked. "Work. I didn't realise the time." I nodded, as I felt a bit cold. "Do you want a blanket?" He offered. I just agreed, as I was freezing. He wrapped a blanket around me, as he pulled me into his arms. I lean into him, too tired to fight it. "Close your eyes. I'll be here when you wake up." He ran a hand over my hair. "Aren't you tired?" I ask, "Don't worry about me, just rest." I turn on my side, as I lay in his lap, I shut my eyes, feeling the warmth against me.
The next morning, I woke up a little disoriented as I realised what was going on. John wasn't there, as I slowly sit up, yawning softly. "John?" I called out, confused as I look at the table. His phone was there. Would it be bad if I looked? I couldn't do that. It would be so bad. I sighed as I just pretended not to even see anything, as he came back into the room. "Hi, darling. How are you doing?" He asked, he seemed on edge, I couldn't figure out why. "I'm okay, what's up with you?" He seemed on edge, he looked really strange. "It's been a bad day." He looked down, as I watched him closely. "What happened?" I asked, he went silent. "John? Talk to me." He snapped out of it, "Have you heard of a man called Mark Hoffman?" I nodded, "He's a cop, right? I've seen him a few times." I didn't know where this was going. "He's gone behind my back. Making traps.. killing people." I was shocked. "Mark? Are you sure? It doesn't seem like he would." He shot me a look. "Oh, I know. He was supposed to be working for me, until I found out what he was doing. He used my work as his own. Inferior work." I looked away, sighing gently. "Why are you telling me this? There has to be a reason." He watched me, "I want you to stop him." I didn't know what to say. "Me? How am I meant to stop a man like that?" He smirked, "Patience, darling. All in good time." He sat beside me, as he glanced my way. "I need to teach you my way of working, how I conduct it all.. the ins and outs." I nodded, still confused.
When I stepped into the world of Jigsaw for the first time, I was clueless. A year later, I was running shit and I wasn't afraid of anyone. John sent me to get some victims for the traps, I had photos, addresses and whereabouts. I had picked up a lot, I was very aware. I was pretty certain I'd fallen in love with him, the man I called my Boss. I tied my hair back, as I put my sunglasses on. The first woman was up, she had been scamming people for months, using their hard earned money to fund her drug habit. I had a chloroform rag in my pocket, a pocket knife in my jacket if I needed it. As she walked down the street, I dragged her into an alley, before knocking her unconscious. I carried her to my car, before I drove off to the warehouse. It was my final catch of the night. I drag her inside, as I placed her into the trap, locking the restraints around her wrists and ankles. I lean back, before setting the camera up and leaving upstairs. "Is it done?" John's voice caught me off guard. "It's done." He smirked. "That's my girl." I shivered, as the silence took over. "You've done good, kid." I rolled my eyes, I thought it was more than that. This time. "I did it for the cause." I watch the cameras, everyone in place. "Let the games begin." I watched him for a moment, before I turned and went back outside. I take a breath, feeling giddy as I lean against the wall. Why did he do this to me? I'd fallen so hard for this man, I didn't see a way back. Was I getting ahead of myself this time around? Darkness.
"You feel it. Don't you?" I turned slowly, as John watched me through the darkness. "What?" I was confused, "Emotions. They're such funny things. They change everything, make you feel like you're alive. Free." I didn't know if he was aware of how I felt for him. "I am free, John. You made me free." He smiled, "If that's what you wish to believe, then I'll forgive it." I looked back into the night. "Tell me what you want." He crossed his arms, "You have what I want." I turned back, "Do I?" He nodded. "Yes. And I won't let that go. I'm never letting you go, you'll never leave me."
"You're right. I'm never leaving. I can't."
"You're damn right about that."
(Welp. Part 3? Or shall we give it an open ending?)
