The one that almost got away.

Unpacking.

I woke up the next morning and felt sore, as I got up and went to the bathroom the mirror was completely cracked, but I could still see the marks from the tile on my face, legs, and arms. After I Got out of the bathroom I went to the kitchen, seeing mom plugging in the toaster. "Whats up?" She looked up. " Oh, just fixing to make breakfast." She smiled but I could tell it was fake. " Whats wrong with the stove? " she sighed and looked away. " it's not working." She popped waffles in the toaster. " ya seems some stuff in the house needs some fixing." She ran her fingers threw her hair and rubbing her face. Looks like she didn't get much sleep. "Kody I  don't have the money and I won't for a while." She started to cry. " I know mom, that's why I'm getting a job." She looked up at me and cried harder. " I-i just am so s-sorry K-Kody I d-didn't want to make you, you need to go yo svhool and do good in life, You can't turn out like me!" I hugged her and rubbed her back. " mom I can do all of that, it's okay! Now stop crying and go take a nap." She nodded and went away. Just then Joey came out and "pop" waffles are done. We ate and I told him to go unpack. He did and I went to my naked room. I had some money from my last job I had been saving up. I grabbed it and wrote mom a note that I was going to go get some paint, I took Joey too. It was a store kind of like a Lowe's. We went in just as a quick thing I went to get a cart and put Joey in it but he Said no and I believed him. Stupid me. I found two colors I liked and had him pick between a blue-green or a black and while design that I would do. He picked the black and white. So we started to go check out and Joey saw something and ran towards it. I had to put the cans down and run after him. Finding him in the arms of a really cute guy......
