/3rd Pov/

Aether woke up in pajamas on a warm surface. He looked up and saw Kaeya smirking at him. Once reality set on, Aether jump backwards away from him, landing gracefully on his feet before falling to his knees. Kinda like this ⬇️.

Kaeya blushed at his embarrassment, then Diluc walked in blushed at Aether as well before saying "I leave for two minutes to make sure the food is still there, and Aether is redder than a tomato." While trying to conceal how hard he was blushing at how cute the sunshine boy was being. "By the way Paimon is awake, so if you want food, you better go eat now."  They both quickly nod, Kaeya bolts passed Diluc shoving him to the ground, Aether stands up and walks over to him and offers him a hand to help him up. Diluc grabs his hand with a thank you and they both walk down the stairs to see Kaeya and Paimon fighting over food. Diluc sneaks over and grabs a few plates of food then motions to a table away from their bickering. "I wonder how long until they notice we are here and have taken food." Aether says kind of amused by their inability to realize their surroundings during a pointless argument. Diluc just scoffs into a chuckle before digging into the breakfast with Aether. They sit there for a good while I comfortable silence listening to the argument between the Emergency Food and Captain Cold.

Time passes as the two continue their argument. Aether and Diluc continue to watch them in amusement. The two squabbling children finally ran out of insults and air to continue their pointless battle. They look around to find Aether holding in a laugh and Diluc pinching the bridge of his nose. They sit down and finish eating.

After breakfast, Diluc and Aether do the dishes. Then, they head up to the library. They look around for a book that could help Aether get his missing power back. For hours they looked through books. Diluc left to get started on lunch while Aether stayed behind. Kaeya and Paimon went to the library at headquarters to look for a book that could help break Aether's seal but had no luck. They headed back to Diluc's place talking about other places that they could look for a book.

They started to worry about Aether, he was still in the library, and they had already finished their lunch. "Paimon thinks that the two of you should go talk to him." she says kind of desolate as her words grab the attention of the worried men across from her. "Paimon has already been able to talk to him and provide advice to him, but it may not be the kind of advice he needs anymore. Paimon thinks he needs a new perspective from other people to give him some better comfort. Paimon can only say the same thing so many times before it doesn't have any emotional effect anymore." she says with a soft and disheartened smile. They both nod and give her a small shoulder pat to let her know if will be alright. When they reach the library, they hear sniffles from the cracked door. They open it to find Aether crouched down looking at the shelf with red, puffy eyes and tears stains on his cheeks. His nose was red instead of a soft pink color. He was so lost in thought that he could hear them walk in or place down his plate of food. They took the book from his hands and placed it on the table near the group of them. Aether looked down and wouldn't say a word as the taller boys tried to get him to respond. Eventually Kaeya grabbed Aether's shoulders and faced Aether towards him. Kaeya put his one of his hands softly under Aether's chin and gently pulled his face up so his eyes could meet Kaeya's. Kaeya took note of the wetness on Aether's chin only to note that it was from his salty tears. They made eye contact in comfortable silence and Kaeya could tell that Aether was not as alright as he pretended to be. He was in a lot of emotional pain. Diluc watched as the two interacted and wore a smile of sadness and fondness. Their interaction was quiet and peaceful. The air was filled with content as Kaeya gave a small smile to the boy who desperately tried to prevent tears from falling down his face and pulled him into a warm hug. He motioned for Diluc to join them. Diluc calmly walked over and hugged Aether from behind and squashed him in a sandwich of safety and care. Aether calmed himself and eventually they let go of a hug they never wanted to end. Aether faced the two of them and smiled as a few extra tears slipped down his soft tear-stained face. Diluc walked over and wiped the tears off Aether's face with his hands. As soon as Diluc's hand touched Aether's soft cheek to wipe off his tears, he left it there not wanting the warmth of the golden-haired boy's face to leave his hand. Aether leaned into the warmth of his hands as they rested on his face.

Aether smiled once again and Diluc's hand fell to his sides and motioned to the plate of food on the side table. Aether ate his lunch and returned to the book he picked up. He opened to the last page he read and continued from there. As Kaeya and Diluc were about to leave Aether spoke out in joy.

"I think I found something!"
