We walked for many miles
Through rain, hail and shine
We walked and walked and walked
For too long a time
We hiked through the mountains
We sailed across the seas
But still we couldn't find a place
That would fulfil the journey
I begged my parents so many times
Told them to turn back
I begged my aunts and uncles
To give me some slack
I begged my brother and sister
To tell them right from wrong
But it was sort of obvious
This journey would be long
And then we met queer peoples
From a distant land
They originated from an odd place
With grey water and red sand
A place so strange and foreign
We couldn't comprehend
And then they told us what we were looking for
Was really home, in the end
We were looking for family
We were looking for a new life
We wanted to be together
We wanted to unite
But really what we needed in the end
Was love and a little warmth
So the journey that we were going on
Was no use at all
But I was faithful, I believed
That the journey would bring us together
And now it has
We will stay family forever
