"Simon let's go! I need to start dinner" I yelled. We had to make a quick run to the grocery because we didn't have enough ingredients for tonight's dinner. Madison ran around in her light up shoes with her favorite teddy bear.
"Mommy can we get Oreos or ice cream?" She asked giving me the puppy dog eyes I couldn't refuse. "Yes baby if your daddy will hurry up" I said loudly.
"Ok I'm here" he said jogging around the corner. "What took you so long?" I asked putting my hand on my hip. "I ran into a problem" he looked down at his pants then back up at me.
"Mommy what's he looking at?" Maddy asked and I took her hand and pulled her out the front door. We walked to the car and Maddy looked up at me "can I run mommy?"
The parking lot was empty and no car were coming so I nodded my head and said "sure" she let go of my hands and ran with the colors red and blue lighting under her feet. Simon came up behind me and threw his arm around my neck.
The cool night breeze felt good. I had a good feeling about tonight. It was so calm and I was starting to feel comfortable with my life.
Late night drives was our favorite kind of drives. The moon was shining bright and the weather was perfect. We drove to a super market close to the tourist attraction sights. They always had fresh items and it was a great place for Madison to be. She loved looking at all the people walking by and all the different monuments.
Simon walked into the store to go get the bread and pasta freshly made while Madison and I stayed outside to get oregano and some more tomatoes.
"Mommy is this one good?" She asked as she picked one up. "It's perfect baby" I said as I threw it in the bag with the others. I backed away from the stand and bumped into someone behind me.
"I'm so sorry" I said as I turned around to look at the person. "It's ok Babygirl" a familiar voice said. I looked up and gasped. "Michael?"
He looked at me with a threatening face. Almost as if he wanted to kill me. "So all this time you've been alive?" He said through gritted teeth. His fist were balled up and he had two men behind him that were wearing black suits and black glasses.
Michael himself was wearing a black suit with a red tie. Madison hid herself behind my leg and I held her behind me unsure of what Michael was going to do.
"Is that my daughter? How could you do this to me? Faking your own-" Michael paused mid sentence and looked over at Madison who was hiding her face getting scared. "Get in the car Cyd" he said lowly. "GET IN THE CAR!!" He yelled out when he saw me hesitate to move. A crowd of people looked over at us. I picked Madison up and carried her over to the black Jeep.
Michael got in the car with us and the 2 big men got in the driver and passenger seat. Madison sat on my lap and I tried my best to comfort her. They pulled off down the road and Michael sat in his seat cracking his knuckles.
"Where are we going?" I asked and Michael didn't answer. "Hellooo? I know you can hear me?" I pushed my hand into his head to get his attention. He slowly turned his head to look at me, clearly pissed off.
"Don't ever do that again, remember what I told you when we first met" I rolled my eyes at him and stayed quiet the rest of the ride. We pulled into a runway at an airport and we sat there while Michael got out of the car to speak with the pilot and his guards. Madison grabbed my arm and held it tightly. I can tell she was scared she had never seen this man...her father before. The plane engine was loud in the background. Michael would occasionally look over at us through the car window and point at us. The pilot and the guards shook their heads and walked in different directions.
One guard walked to the trunk of the car while the other one walked to our side and opened the door for us. "Mrs. Jackson please step out of the vehicle and follow me to the entrance of the plane." he said while holding his hand out to help me out of the car. I stepped out of the car ignoring his hand and turned around to help Madison out of the car. I walked her over to the plane still nervous about where we were going. "Mommy I'm scared" Madison tugged on my arm and pulled me away from the plane stairs.
"Mommy I don't like planes, please don't make me get on" she begged with tears forming in her eyes. I thought about picking Madison up and making a run for it but when I looked over at Michael he was staring at us intensely. I bent down and held Madison's shoulders. "Baby please trust me, I won't put you in any danger. We have to get on this plane". Madison cried harder and turned her head. I stood up feeling hurt that she didn't trust me. She stood there wiping her tears , she looked up at me and darted off past the guard and past the car. "Madison stop!!" I yelled as I took off after her. She ran fast and I could hardly catch up to her.
I heard a car speeding up behind me then quickly drive past me. The person drove up to Madison and swerved the car right in front of her causing her to get scared and fall back. I screamed her name in horror and ran up to her. I dropped to my knees and checked to make sure the man driving didn't hit her. She had a few scratches on her hand from trying to stop herself from falling but she seemed ok other then being a little shook up. " Michael walked up to us and crossed his arms. He gave off a cold stare and scolded Madison. "Get on the plane now! The both of you!" He yelled.
"What the hell is your problem, you could have killed her like that." I screamed at him getting pissed off by his stupid actions made by his anger. "My men know what they're doing, now I won't tell you again...Get.On.The.Fucking.Plane" he turned his back and started walking towards the plane. Madison stood up and growled at Michael in anger. She ran up to him and started slapping at his back and screaming. "IM NOT GETTING ON THAT PLANE" she screamed. Michael slowly turned around and looked down at her. "You're just as feisty as your mother" he laughed to himself and picked Madison up. She screamed even louder and kicked and flailed her arms.
"Michael put my daughter down, you're scaring her!!" I ran up to him and tried to grab Madison from him. "Cyd get on the plane I got her" he said continuing to walk and not make eye contact with me. "I will get her on the plane just give her to me" I said trying to reach for her again. "Enough!! I won't hurt her she's my chil-" he grunted and started to walk faster.
When we reached the plane he carried Madison who had seemed to calm down up the stairs. He sat her in a seat and buckled her up. I went to sit next her and Michael roughly grabbed my arm. "No, you sit with me for the first half of this ride, we have much to talk about and catch up on" he pushed me towards some doors located at the back of the plane. I took one last look back at Madison just to see her holding her hand out at me and giving me puppy dog eyes. One of the guards sat in the seat next her and pulled a juice box out of his pocket. That was at least one way to earn her trust and make her feel better. Michael closed the doors behind us.
The room was lit up with chairs and a table. It looked like something fit for a president. He even had a case full of different wines and champagnes. I heard a gun cock and felt something press against the back of my head. "Walk over to the chair slowly" Michael said slightly nudging my head forward with his gun. "What are you going to do?" I said lowly as I walked over to the chair.
"You took my daughter and my happy life from me...and for that- I might just have to kill you"
