Unexpected Love

Chapter 2

Kim and Jay headed back to the district to update the team on what they had. They discussed the possible leads that they got from the teacher before getting to the district. Jay pulled to truck into the back parking lot and hopped out locking it as he and Kim made their way into the district. They walked past the tech room where Mouse was working on something before heading up the stairs and into the bullpen.

"So we talked to the roommate, she hadn't seen Arden, said he was staying with is buddy Owen, so that was a dead-end, we then talked to DA who runs the introduction to law, Arden wasn't in class but she said she has never had a problem with him or Owen," Jay told the rest of the team sticking up the relevant photos of the people they had talked to.

"Okay, we someone clearly had some sort of problem with Owen, the fact that he showed up dead in an ally way shows someone has a problem with Owen so we need to find Arden, we find Arden we find our killer and how he is connected to all of this." Voight said a slight anger tone in his voice.

The team was quiet for a while not wanting to say anything until Mouse walked in breaking the silence.

"I might have something, I was able to track Arden through traffic cams and police pods and got him entering the library been reviewing the footage and I haven't clocked him coming out, yet. "

"Good, send us the address let's go and talk to Arden and get to the bottom of this," Voight said. The rest of the team followed all splitting up and going to their respective cars. Pulling up outside the library the team got out.

"Alright we go in quiet, don't freak him out, this kid is all we got of catching this guy, we don't even know what this guy looks like, okay this kid is the only one who has seen him, we need him to be calm." Voight briefed the team. The Team followed him in, each splitting in different ways.

Harlow's POV

I was sitting in my office going through emails and preparing for a court trial that was coming up when a message popped up on my computer from one of my students. It was Arden, he needed help. He told me where he was and I immediately grabbed my stuff and drove over to the library. I walked in finding him right where he said he was. I walked over to him sitting down next to him.

"Arden, what's wrong?" I asked him

"There's something I need to tell you, and I don't know if it was wrong or not but I need your help." he told me, before I could say anything someone walked up to us.

Jay's POV

I made my way through the library eventually finding Arden sat at one of the computers, I radioed it in when I noticed someone walk up and sit next to him. I continued to walk over to him and stood next to him, finally noticing who was sitting next to him.

"Arden Dumont, I'm Detective Halstead with the Chicago Police Department, I need you to come with me, we have a few question we need to ask you down at the station." I told him flashing my badge as I also notice the rest of the team coming over.

"I didn't do anything, why do I need to go to the station?' He asked, "I know my rights, I can refuse to answer any questions you may have and I don't have to go anywhere with you, so unless you are arresting me I'm not going anywhere." he said standing up and getting agitated.

"No, your not under arrest, but we do have a few questions we would like to ask. " I said getting slightly irritated by his attitude.

"We unless you are putting my under arrest I'm not going anywhere with you." He said, at this point I was getting really irritated. I took a quick glance at Voight and he gave me a slight nod knowing exactly what I wanted to do.
