Chapter 9

Evelyn's POV:
I was sitting at home alone. Harry left awhile ago cause of a shift at work. So far I've just cleaned up the house and watched keeping up with the kardashians.

As I was cleaning up I heard a knock on the door. I look through the peep hole and saw that it was Niall.

What is he doing here?

"Good evening Evelyn. Tonight you will be taken on a magical journey with your sweetheart. You will get ready for a masquerade ball." He says

A masquerade??

"Your lover has already picked out your outfit all you need to do is your hair and whatever else girls do to get ready." He says laughing.

"Okay then....." I say really confused about the situation.

I go upstairs and get ready for the ball. I take a quick shower and blow dry my hair. I decide to curl it and put bobby pins in to make a half-up half-down kinda look.

Next I put on some make up. I didn't put much on though because I didn't want to mess it up with the mask which was black to match my dress.

I just put on mascara and eyeliner and some face makeup and that's it.

Next was the dress. I zip it up and it was beautiful. It was like a black blue color. The color of a raven. It was strapless and long and flowy.

I go down stairs and Niall leads me to the car. I got in and Niall told me the rules.

"Okay Evelyn, the following rules must be applied the whole night, got it?"

"Mhhm" I hum

"Okay so when we get there, there will be many people. You will have to find Harry and be very careful. It is a very big venue and you have to find the right boy." He says trying to be serious

"Got it" I say

We take a long drive there. It is all the way deep into town.

We get there and Niall was right. It's huge. It's very crowded too.

I leave the car and Niall parks somewhere. I look around and try to find Harry. Man this is harder than I thought.

I go to the second floor of the party and still no Harry. I keep walking around and I keep trying to find him. Nothing.

I was about to give up but just before I did somebody grabbed me from behind. I turn and see who it is.

"Luke?" I say

"Yeah, I heard you were coming so I decided to come too. You look great by the way." He says

"Thank you" I say

"Look, uhm I didn't come here to party or anything. I need to talk to you. Could you come out with me to the balcony?" He asks

"Yeah sure" I say a bit nervous to what he was going to say. We went up to the third floor and there was a beautiful set up. There were flowers and candles and lights. It was dreamy. It was like Italy or something. We sit down and Luke starts talking.

"Look, we've been friends for awhile and everything you do makes me smile. You were my friend when nobody else was. Like any other friends we've had ups and downs but I've managed to keep you." He says

I feel like I'm gonna throw up. I know exactly where this is going.
He starts to lean in to me. I don't know what to do.
Before I figure it out he kisses me. I don't kiss back.

Before I get off, I hear someone yell.

"GET OFF HER!" It's Harry. Sh!t.

Luke looks over.

"This is none of your business buddy. I've known her longer so you go away."

"No. She is my girlfriend and the only thing I have. This is her night so I think you should just leave." Harry says

"Whatever you know what? I will leave. Wanna know why? Because in a few months she'll come crying to me cause you broke her." Luke says.

Is he on drugs? Luke walks in and leaves.

"Harry I swear I didn't know what to do and I freaked out and..." He cuts me off and kisses me.

"It's okay I know babe" he says
"I did this for you." He says looking around.

"What?" I say

"This balcony. I set it up." He says

"For what?" I say smiling

"Because I love you...." He says

Love? Am I ready for it?

Ohhhhh cliffhanger!!! Sorry I haven't been writing Much. I've been trying to get my grades up and stuff and I just haven't had the time. I'm also working on another book so that's another reason. Anyways I'll update within the next couple days<3
