Songbird of Death

chapter eight

Striding through the hall robes billowing outwards Severus Snape sighed and knocked on the office door door. Turning the handle he was greeted by two of his mates.
"Did you two feel it aswell?" He asked hopefully.
"We did love. Our final mate went through their inheritance."
And suddenly they were no longer in Lucius' office black marble floors grey walls with dark grey columns and a black throne made up of bones.
"Normally I would have come to you, unfortunately I cannot leave the underworld at this time. Have a seat we have much to discuss."
"Who are you?" Tom demanded reaching for his wand pushing his mates behind him.
"Don't be stupid Tom Marvolo Riddle you know who I am! Now have a seat"  a black loveseat sofa appeared and the three warily sat down.
"Now then I know you all felt your final mate come into her inheritance. You are here so I can tell you about her and ensure you will take care of my mistress as she has suffered enough for 2 lifetimes let alone 9 years."
"Sorry did you say she's 9? She shouldn't have gone through her inheritance until 17."
"You are correct Severus Tobias Snape. She had over three quarters of her core blocked along with other hereditary magics blocked  she would have never known if I and my sister had not meddled."
"Who would do such a thing to a child!" Lucius was raging he got up and started to pace.
"Calm yourself Lucius Abraxius Malfoy, it has been taken care of her new family took her to Gringots unfortunately because of the blocks she has aged to about 21 even though she's actually 9."
"Where is she? Can we see her lord death?" Tom begged
Death went silent. "Currently she is in New York speaking to her grandfather." What I am going to do is show you her life so please sit down Lucius Abraxius Malfoy."
Lucius sat and Death sent every memory to their heads.
He watched as they paled and looked as if they would be sick. Then the rage started.
"Tell me she's safe now please" Severus had tears streaking down his face.
"She is. Her "Relatives" and I use that term very loosely were killed by her new Uncles"
They collectively let out a sigh of relief.
"Tom Marvolo Riddle do you know why the killing curse rebounded when you tried to kill the Potter child?"
"No I assumed it was something the parents did."
Death laughed and the three men looked terrified.
"No it had nothing to do with the parents, it was because mates cant kill one another"

"WHAT!" all three yelled
"SIT DOWN" they obediently sat down again.
"Now tell me are you going to take care of her? Love her? Be there for her? Because I'm telling you right now you hurt my mistress I will reap you no second chances with me."
They looked at each other and nodded "we have waited for our final mate for years we didn't care if they were male or female, we loved her without ever knowing her, we would burn the world to keep her safe." Severus passionately told Death.
"Then you are worthy of her"
"Who did all that to her? Can we kill them?"
"It is being taken care of Sakura want herself and her grandfather to deal the killing blow as he lost his daughter to that man and you never want to piss Loki off."
"Loki is her grandfather? Hang on Loki is Lily's father?" Severus was stunned
Death looked at the clock and sighed.
"I'm afraid you have to go back now. You can't stay here too long."
"Two last questions then if you'll allow it?" Tom said
Death nodded
"Who blocked her core and where is she now?"
"Albus Dumbledore and Volterra Castle, Volterra, Italy. Go find her."
"Of course lord death and thank you." Was the last word uttered as they were suddenly back in Lucius' study.

"Well looks like we're going to Italy."
