The weekend arrived and both of your parents were at work which meant you were home alone. Despite what your mom had said you two never got around to talking about this "partner" you had, which you were very thankful for because you didn't want to dig an even deeper hole of lies.

With your spare time, you continued searching for colleges and came to four choices.

Fairfield University

New York University

Wesleyan University and

Boston University

All four were within a few hours of your house and were known for some of the majors you were a little bit interested in. The main one being Psychology.

You wrote them down on a paper and left them in your moms' room like she'd told you to during the week, and returned to your bedroom to watch Netflix.

You were watching The Vampire Diaries and Elena was getting on your damn nerves. "Girl, what the fuck are you crying abou-?"

Your phone began to ring from beside you.

Jean

You paused the show and answered it. "Wazzuhh" You greet happily while smiling into the camera. Jean smiles back at you "Are you home?" You nod "Yeah why?"

"I'm coming over," He says nonchalantly.

"Okay... but why are you in Connecticut?"

"Bye!" He dismisses ignoring your question.

"Jea-" Jean hangs up the phone before you can finish. Okay then. You press play on the remote and get comfy in the sheets of your bed. You finish watching two whole episodes before the doorbell rings. You look in the mirror to make sure you don't look like a complete mess and continue towards the door.

Pulling the door open you come face to face with Jean. He looks the same as he did just a week ago but now he's sporting slight eye bags. "You gonna let me in?" His eyebrow raises suspiciously. "No" You blurt out dumbly, you didn't realize you'd been staring. "I meant yes sorry" You shake your head and move out of the way. Jean comes in and shuts the door for you.

"I got you Wendys" He holds up the brown paper bag and shows you the cupholder in his hands. "Strawberry lemonade?" You question looking at the cups. "Of course." He grins walking towards the kitchen to put the food down. "Now answer my question, why are you in Connecticut?" You take a seat at the island.

Jean digs through the bag and finds his food. "I had to go home and take my moms' car for maintenance and I was only twenty minutes away so I decided to come by and see you."

You were starting to realize how little you knew about his personal life.

"Wait where's your mom?"

"Out of state for work, she's a sales executive," He says placing your food in front of you. "Thanks" You acknowledge looking down for a second then back at him. "That's so cool, does she travel often?" Jean shakes his head as he chews. "Just 3-4 times a year, it used to be more but she got promoted a few years ago." You nod as you slip a fry into your mouth. "Oh yeah, I texted my dad back and agreed to meet up with him." He says as if it's not a big deal.

You sit up straight, surprised that he did it. "Really, what day did you guys agree on?"

"The Sunday after Thanksgiving ..shit I forgot to ask if that day's okay with you. Is it?" He asks, looking afraid that you'd say no.

"I literally sit at home all day" You remind him. "I forgot you're a bit of a loser..." He jokes, flinching away as you threaten to throw a paper towel roll at him.
