It was 7 a.m when Bakugo felt thirsty and got up to get a drink of water. But when he slid his door open, to his surprise, he noticed Y/n wasn't in her room.
She was no where in sight.
He made his way down to the kitchen to get a glass of water when he saw her mixing random ingredients into a bowl.
She whipped her head around. "Oh!" She gave him a smile before wiping her face with her arm, managing to get flour onto her cheek. "Morning Bakugo."
He walked over to her and watched as she cracked an egg into a large mixing bowl, accidentally leaving some eggshells inside.
Y/n hissed before pulling the eggshells out. "I'm trying to bake pancakes, I'm not very good at cooking tho..."
"Yeah, no shit." He mumbled. "You clearly need help."
"Psshhh, what...? N-no I don't..." She said unconvincingly.
Bakugo sighed before taking the whisk out her hand and mixing the batter quickly. "Heat up the stove."
. . .
Y/n and Bakugo sat in the common room eating their pancakes and sausages with a fork. Bakugo made himself some eggs and plated it.
This morning, the letter read to ask her about her quirk.

• The next time you see Y/n, make sure to ask her about the reason she's hospitalized.
10 years ago, I found out about her quirk a little too late for comfort, do me this favor and find out now.┖┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┚
Why did this have to happen to me.
He placed his fork down to ask her. "Why are you in this hospital."
She looked up at him before wiping her mouth and placing her plate on the table side. "You asked that yesterday."
"And you never answered me."
She crossed her arms together. "Yes I did. I said that I didn't want to talk about it."
"Don't care."
Y/n grumbled. "...Fine."
Bakugo sat up to listen to her speak.
"My quirk is mind connect. I am able to hear what someone else can hear just by simply grazing them. Tapping, touching, whatever. Just as long as skin touches skin- I can hear what they can hear."
Bakugo watches as she closes her eyes and lays her head to the side. "Problem is... I can't really hear that well. Actually, I can barley hear anything at all."
She looks up at Bakugo. "But you talk pretty damn loud, so luckily I don't have that problem with you."
"Fuck you." He says angrily, making her laugh.
Makes sense why she can't hear me sometimes. Bakugo thought.
"What exactly are the doctors going to do about it? Its hard to get hearing back just like that."
"Yeah..." She placed her chin on her hand. "It's hard, but not impossible. It's going to take time, and I have to be consistent with it, making sure I follow my doctors orders."
Bakugo stared at her. "Okay.."
Y/n stared at him back. "Okay."
She suddenly hopped up to her feet and picked up both her plate, and his. "We have a lot of dishes to do Bakugo! C'mon, get up!" She stacked the plates on top of each other and made her way back to the kitchen.
Bakugo and Y/n spent the next half an hour washing bowls, pans, and anything that was used to make the breakfast. Occasionally though, Y/n "accidentally" splashes some water onto Bakugo, leading to her getting yelled at.
While scrubbing a plate down, Bakugo wondered how Y/n could possibly need any kind of "saving".
She seemed to be perfectly fine, annoying, but fine.
I guess time will tell.
