That singular building looming in front of him; alluring him to enter, ready to swallow up the next two years of his life.

Slowly, he pushed his way through the crowds of unidentifiable undergraduates, reaching the library after an eternity of lingering strides.

Medicine.

Where were the medicine books?

He searched low and high, sweeping each aisle with ease; studying the spines.

A thump. A jolt of blunt pain detonating in his back.

Someone had bumped into him.

Spinning on his heel, eyes landing on the taller man.

"Scott, Scott Holmes."

His face fell, eyes glossing over the taller man.

The name took him aback, had he heard it in a previous life? A dream?

Black hair, blue eyes, and monotonous, unnoticeable clothing.

"Gray Watson, pleasure to meet you, Scott."

Inopportune silence followed. Deep-seated eye contact and inner cheek biting.

"Sorry." Gray broke the silence, his tone euphonious and understanding.

"You looking for something?"

"Says the one who bumped into me." Gray Scoffed.

"Answer my question." replied Scott.

"Medicine. I'm looking for the medicine section. This library is.. gigantic."

"Come with me." professed Scott as he beckoned toward Gray, ambling away.

He followed.

Butterflies. Tens of them. Hundreds of them. Thousands of them, swarming, protruding, professing.

Scott's walk..

Weighty steps, prolonged strides, thunderous reverberation.

Newfound feelings surfacing, longing to escape.

Not just yet,

old friend.
