VIII :: Achievement

"GAGO si kuya, alam ko namang nasa kamay niya ang batas pero dose anyos pa lang 'yan, child abuse siya."

"Anong child abuse r'yan eh medyo mataba nga ng bata. Tanga ka rin 'no?"

"Wow, buti nakikita niyo pa yung bata? Ang puti masiyado amputa, kakulay na yung bedsheet!"

"Sei troppo rumoroso, Leinard."

"Oh tamo! you're too loud daw. I-tape mo nga 'yang bibig mo kasi."

I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. The room was a huge expanse of white, the lights were dim but it was the voices that had awoken me, loud and deep, it made my heart race with fear.

As I sat up, my gaze landed upon the three men standing over me. Their faces were unfamiliar and their expressions were the same, they were shocked.

"Ahh!" I automatically screamed. The men almost jumped back, startled.

One of them held up his hands in a calming gesture. He have a golden brown skin too like what Kuya Quest have, there was also a... a black engraved thing on his wrist, I saw it when he raised his hands. He is also tall and kindness was written in his face yet there is a dark aura surrounding him, like kuya Quest. "Woah, it's okay. We're not going to hurt you!"

I didn't care about their intentions. All I cared about was getting away from them and finding a way out of this strange, white room. I frantically scanned my surroundings.

My gaze landed on myself, and I gasped. I was covered in bandages, swaddled like a mummy. A small thing was inserted in my dolsar, I don't know what this thing's name is.

I turned back to the men, my mind is aching for answers. "Where am I?" I finally spoke.

The man who had spoken earlier, the tall one with a kind face but dark aura, stepped forward. "You're in a hospital," he said gently. "You've been injured. Kuya will be here soon."

Kuya Quest? What happened? Why am I not in that strange dark room anymore?

"Is he... okay?" I asked slowly. Hesitating if I should ask them that, I don't even know who they is.

The man's expression softened. "Kuya is okay, he's just... resting? He's resting for a while," explained.

I was surprised when he mentioned that Kuya Quest is his kuya. Does it mean they're brothers? Kuya and I aren't siblings, he just adopted me, he already explained that to me a long time ago which I understand. There's nothing wrong with that, being adopted is okay.

"Just relax for now, Xelest."

Relax? Are you kidding me? I am trapped in a strange place with strange people and no memory of how I got here. Relax was not an option!

Hindi ko talaga alam kung ano ang nangyari noong gabing 'yon. All I can remember is watching Kuya from a CCTV footage where he shoots the men who were fighting him and after that, I don't what happened. There's a lot of questions lingering in my head and none of them was answered yet. Where is Kuya? Is he okay? Why did he do that? Is he really a bad guy?

And what do those men means?
What do they want from me?

They're the worst! I'm only 12, how can I know what they were talking about? I don't even have any idea of what they were talking about. And how Tita Angel ignored me when I knew that she can hear my voice, loud and clear yet she chose to ignore me and it made me hate her. Not only her but my cousins too. I never want to see them again. They're traitors.

But seriously, I don't know what they're talking about. I'm honestly confused and puzzled. They were looking for something and that something must be very significant to them and I wonder why. If I'm not mistaken, they were looking for a vault? I don't know what that is but they're asking me about it and where it was located. Of course, I don't know what to answer! I don't even know what vault is. Well, I'm sorry, I don't go to school, Kuya Quest was the one teach me things I'm supposed to know.
