"You don't understand!",
A large scream echoed through the doctor's office.
"Clam down miss Gilbert, we can-"
"No!,you can't, who do you think you are?"
She stormed out of the office in tears. She told herself to control it and to not let it get to her, but it was worthless. The back of her hands were drenched with blood and sweat as she ran towards her car.
She led out a scream of relief and help, the moment she stepped into her car. She clenched her fists over the steering wheel and exhaled a gush of air. wet wipes turned filthy and dark once she wiped away the layers of makeup used to mask her healing scars, the engine roared and before the doctors could get her, she had escaped out of hell. Her apartment looked a little dead compared to the other days she drove in, the flowers in the parking lot looked as if it was treated with dirt instead of water and the elevator was stuck on the third floor refusing to come down. She walked her way through the staircase to her apartment, her big and lonely apartment. What was the point in all this?. She could sleep on the sidewalk at the subway and still call it home, apartments were pointless especially when one lives alone. As she clicked her lock open she heard her neighbour's voice from afar. Hamid was carrying the morning newspaper back to his apartment when he saw her,
"Hey! How's your day going henna?"
Henna froze and thought to herself,
How WAS my day going?, 'I crashed myself deliberately over an electric post this morning hoping I would die before having to make fake excuses to anyone in my life, the doctor tied my wound up and told me nothing serious happened and how he was happy for that, he started talking to me about my feelings and started to act as if he understood everything that was going on in my life, I still have a mild headache and I just don't want to see tomorrow's sun rise. I screamed at the doctor and rushed out of the hospital and screamed at the top of my lungs once I reached there too, only to realise the car was not in a bad shape as I had hoped, I have a sore throat and a bad headache now and I just want to quit',
"It's going amazing Hamid, how is yours?", she replied,
Her voice quivered as she tried to hold back her tears, but she could feel one drop escape through.
Hamid came closer to her, with a concerned look on his face."What happened?",
That was by far the most dangerous question ever asked in the whole wide world,
Henna couldn't hold it back, she tucked Hamid's collar and cried, resting her head on his shoulder, Soaking his shirt with her tears."Hey, it's all going to be okay, let's go inside now".
Hamid opened her door with her keys, by placing his arms over her shoulder, he lead her to her couch.
"Are you willing to talk about it?",
Henna wiped her tears as she raised her head up,
"No, you may go now,".
Henna pushed him away, Hamid stood up and told her to take care of herself. Henna nodded and showed him the way to the exit.
Hamid came out and immediately went to his apartment to grab his jacket, he thought that maybe some Chinese food would cheer her up, he has seen her order Chinese multiple times.
The time was almost 7:00 in the evening, hamid held the packed, ready to eat Chinese food in one hand and some books in the other, he walked towards henna's apartment and rang the doorbell."Who is it?",
Came a call from inside,
"It's me and look what I brought".
