Chapter 4: Questions

I couldn't stop running. The girl was catching up. Her pink hair flowing behind her. Her knife poised to strike. I tripped on a rock and fell to the ground. Yuno was over me. She picked me up off the ground by my hair. She pressed her knife up to my neck. "Dead end". "Gah!" I awoke sweating and breathing heavily. "Bad dream?" A girl said. I looked next to me and Yuno was standing over me. I looked for my phone. Yuno pulled it out of her shirt. "Looking for something?" She said happily. I tried to snatch it off her but she somehow knew what I was going to do. What was it she said yesterday? Something about her diary telling her all about me. "Give me my diary!" I yelled. "Oh you won't be needing it" Yuno replied putting it back down her shirt "I'll keep it safe for now". Yukkii walked in my room. "Hey sweetie you ready to go?" Yukkii said. "Yup, come on 5th you're with us" Yuno said. "Uh wha-" I replied. "Come on or I'll break your phone!". "Ye-yeah alright". I quickly got changed.

We ran through the streets. Guided only by the light from the street lamps. It was quite foggy so we could only see a couple of metres around us. No one said a word and our footsteps were even silent.

Suddenly Yukkii stopped. And Yuno did the same. I heard three static sounds simultaneously. Yukkii pulled out his diary and Yuno pulled out her phone and my phone. 2:54am Stabbed in the back by someone. "DUCK!!" Yukkii exclaimed we all ducked and a knife flew over my head. "Run... Now!" Yuno ordered. I didn't hesitate, even if the couple were going to kill me later I wouldn't want to die before that. We ran through the darkness the fog making things even harder to see. "5th catch!" Yuno said throwing my diary to me. I caught it. 2:57 Shot from the alley. "We can lose them down the alley" Yuno said. "No! My diary says I get shot down there" I said . "Alright, keep running straight then" Yukkii said. "We could stop in the barn?" I panted, pointing over to the farm land. "Yeah sure" Yuno replied. We made way for the barn jumping and ducking fences and small hay bales.

We snuck our way inside. The adrenaline that was moving me wore off and my leg which was shot yesterday felt a stabbing pain. "Arghh" I screamed. Tears started streaming down my face. "Shh they're gonna find us!" Yuno hushed. The pain was unbearable and I blacked out.

I woke up in a bedroom. The walls were made of thin wooden planks. I got up and just sat where I was. I had no idea what house I was in. I couldn't remember anything after I blacked out. I checked my leg. It was patched up and didn't hurt one bit. Yuno opened the sliding door and peeked in. "Oh you're up?" She said. "Y-yeah I guess so" I replied a little bit startled. "Come and get breakfast when you're ready". I checked my diary. Nothing. "Alright then" I said silently. I stretched my arms as I got up and slowly made my way down the hall to breakfast.

I opened up a sliding door at the end of the hall and Yukkii and Yuno were sitting on their knees at the table. I joined them. "Why didn't you kill me?" I asked. "We'll explain later" Yukkii replied. "Just eat your breakfast for now" Yuno said. I started eating my breakfast and Yuno and Yukkii left the room. I felt so awkward. Left alone in a house that I knew nothing about with a couple that wouldn't hesitate to kill me. At least the food tasted good I thought to myself. Yuno walked back into the room holding clothes. "These should fit you, they were mine a couple years ago but I don't wear them anymore" Yuno said happily. I went to the room I woke up in and got dressed. I looked in the mirror to see what they looked like. The bottom half was a plain black skirt and the top half was a black shirt with a white angel on it. I tied my hair up into a pony tail with a black ribbon. Yuno opened the door. "Pretty" she smiled. I blushed "uh thanks". "We're ready to answer anything now so come out to the living room". I got up and followed Yuno to the living room. "Is this your house?" I asked. "Yeah it is, what do you think?" She replied. "It's really big" "yeah, it is". Yukkii was already sitting down. "Ok first off. Why haven't you killed me yet" I asked seriously. "Truth is.. You are a very valuable player. Everyone is looking for you but we can't have you die just yet" Yukii said. "W-what? So I'm like special or something?!" "Yes.. That's exactly what you are" Yuno said. "Your diary is probably, if not, the best in this game. So the other players want you eliminated before you find out how to use your diary even better". Something in Yukkii's voice made me think. What does my diary truly hold and why was it bestowed to me?

A/N so sorry I haven't been uploading chapters!! I don't really know what to write so I've been thinking for ages on how to do this chapter. Also feel free to spot any spelling mistakes or errors as it will help me improve my writing :)
