Poem 3: Unheard Memories

3 0 1

I remember the sound of the gentle breeze and the look of an unfamiliar place,

It was a shadow day at a new school.

I recall the reason for moving was so it would be more convenient.

I remember the next day,

I told my friends that I would be moving.

I'll never be able to learn the state capitals,

Nor be a part of the band for another year.

On a day that I don't remember,

One of my best friends would also be moving

To another school,

And later to another state.

Sometimes I realize that it is for the better.

I remember having close friends,

but some friendships just don't last.

I remember the fun times and events.

Playing the color game with the world map,

Learning how to say the US states in alphabetical order,

Playing prodigy,

Creating role plays and stories.

So full of fiction.

But now, cringy

I will remember the memories,

the more enjoyable times.

What I feel was a better me.

However,

One thing I don't want to remember,

But I still do,

Is Swun Math.

The memories of math problems that took forever to solve.
