For the previous chapter (chapter 5) I actually had a very different idea of how this chapter would go. In the end, this chapter took a much more serious note, but this was my original thought of how it would go. I hope you like it, it's kind of silly. :)

"I have a question," Wendy said quietly the next morning over a steaming mug of tea, "When did Arthur fall?"

The young men exchanged a confused glance. "The battle of Camlaan took place in..." Kilgharrah began, "I feel as though it was the year four hundred and sixteen." Merlin shook his head, "No, it was four seventeen. Mother sent me to Gaius in the early fall of four hundred and nine, I just turned fifteen then, and when Arthur died I was twenty three, so that's almost eight years." Kilgharrah nodded solemnly in agreement. "It feels so long ago."

Merlin frowned, "To me it still feels like-" Merlin was cut off by Wendy, "You can't be that old! You're basically ancient!"

Merlin laughed, "If you think I'm old then ask Kilgharrah how old he was when Arthur fell."

"Hey." Kilgharrah warned, "I was only fifty four!"

"You were fifty four then?" Wendy shrieked. "But you're in your twenties now!"

"You just watched Merlin turn from an old, grumpy wart into a young man, this cannot be exceedingly surprising." Kilgharrah said, at the same time that Merlin cackled, "No Wendy, he was celebrating his fifty fourth birthday for the twenty fourth time!"

"Merlin!" Kilgharrah bellowed. "I was not that old!"

"Yes you were! You were over two thousand years old!"

"Two thousand years old?" Wendy croaked.

"I was only twenty three hundred and fifty four years old! I am still young compared to some!" He defended himself.

Merlin cocked an eyebrow, "Who can possibly be older than you?"

"Anhora, for example."

"Who's he?" Wendy gaped.

"Keeper of the Unicorns," Kilgharrah said passively.

Wendy gaped at him, "Are you telling me that unicorns are real?"

Merlin scoffed, "Of course unicorns are real! They're the purest creatures in existence."

"What about dragons? Are they real?" Wendy's mug sat abandoned on the table for there were far more interesting things than earl grey tea.

"That is a question better suited for Kilgharrah," Merlin laughed.

Kilgharrah rolled his eyes at the raven haired boy, "Yes, dragons exist." He pulled a sparkling ruby and gold amulet from his shirt. Wendy wondered how old the amulet was; the gold dragon that cradled the glowing ruby looked tarnished and scratched.

"When did you get this?" Wendy wondered.

Kilgharrah pulled away his shirt and hid the amulet, "When it was needed for me to hold a human form."

Wendy frowned, what have I gotten myself into?

I know it was a really short bit, but I didn't get far through the chapter before I decided to change it. Still hoped you liked it. :)
