KASSIDY
Summer is almost over and back to school is just around the corner.
All of my friends, even Ava, left town and had their summer vacation somewhere else. I just stayed at the comforts of our home, baked brownies and cookies, made some vlogs and uploaded them on my YouTube channel, and wrote some chapters of the book I'm working on. Only Ava knows about me being a writer. It's a part of my life that I do not open up to people, especially to the people on the internet who follow me on my socials and subscribed to my channel, watching my every move, my every posts. Another secret of mine, that Ava also knows, is that I've been fangirling over this guy, we go to the same school and he's also a content creator like me, but his contents are more on gaming.
I was busy writing the next chapter of the book I'm currently working on the whole summer when I heard a familiar sound of a skateboard softly rumbling on our neighborhood's concrete pavement. I opened my curtains a little bit and took a peek at my window to see him who just got home from the park.
A small smile appeared on my lips as I look at him pick up his skateboard. He suddenly looked up my window which made me quickly close the curtain and hide beside my window. I let out a sigh and leaned my whole body on the wall.
"That was a close one." I muttered.
I looked at my wall clock and it was 4pm. I sighed and went back to my desk and faced my laptop once again and continued typing.
When I finished typing, I stretched my arms and let out a small yawn. I looked at my phone and it was already 8 pm. I heard my parents' car at the garage so I decided to get out from my room and go down. As I arrive at the garage I immediately helped my mom carry the groceries she and dad bought.
We all headed to the kitchen and started unpacking the groceries they bought.
"School starts in two days. Are you ready?" My mom asked.
"Of course, mom." I cheerfully responded.
"We're sorry if we weren't able to get out of town for a vacation like your friends did. It's been hectic for both me and your mom at the hospital." My dad apologized.
"It's okay, dad. Besides, I enjoy just staying at home. I made my summer vacation here productive. There's always a next time for a vacation." I sweetly said and hugged both of them.
"By the way, you forgot to give the cookies you baked for Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley." My mom said, pointing at the box of cookies placed at the counter top.
"Oh my gosh, I totally forgot. I'll go to their house now." I said and quickly picked up the box and headed to Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley's house, who is just beside ours.
As I arrive at their doorstep, I looked at myself and fixed up my hair before ringing the doorbell.
I rang the doorbell and waited for either Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley to open the door for me. But to my surprise, it was neither of them who opened the door. It was their son, Jaxon.
My used-to-be childhood friend. Also, the guy who I have a crush on for a long time and the guy I'm currently fangirling over.
YES. Jaxon Kingsley is that guy. Content creator. Gamer.
I was surprised that he's the one who opened the door and is standing right in front of me. He looked surprised as well.
