Chapter 8

TW: light anxiety attack

The 4 of them walked behind the house and Tommy saw the dardinen. There were 4 plant boxes with a bunch of herbs and vegetables in the plant boxes. Around the box were a wide range of flowers and bushes. The plants made a wall in the shape of a U and in the middle of the U was the 4 boxes. On the right side of the U was a tree. It was big enough that behind the plant box you could have a picnic or other activities there. Tommy looked in awe at his surroundings. He had never seen that many different types of plants all in one place before. Phil chuckled at the boy and his amazement of the area.

"Can I go look at the flowers?" Tommy said in awe

"Of course you can, just make sure you are in view of the house if you come out here." Phil said

"Yes, I don't think I ever want to leave after this." Tommy said as he started to walk to the garden. Wilbur followed behind him. Techno stayed back with Phil. There was a white bench with a swan design on it that was up against the house. Techno and Phil sat down on the bench and watched the 2 boys rome around the garden.

"This one here Tommy is a yellow rose." Wilbur said pointing to the yellow flower

"OH WOW COOL. How many roses do you guys grow here?" Tommy said

"Hmmmm I would say about 30." Wilbur said

"Who plants them? Where do you get the seeds?" Tommy asked

"Techno is the planter of the family, Him and Phil come out here to take care of the plants. I just like to watch or steal Techno's dirt and seeds bbbbuuuuut last time I did that I kinda got hunted." Wilbur chuckled at the last part remembering the time Techno had chased him for an hour to get his speed back, the only way he got it back was by cornering in the house.

"WILBUR ARE YOU TELLING TOMMY ABOUT HOW I CAUGHT YOU LIKE A RAT IN A TRAP." Techno called across the gardener.

"YES, BUT YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE GOT ME IF IT WASN'T FOR PHIL." Wilbur yelled back

"Alright so we are feeling sassy today." Techno muttered to himself as he got off the bench and ran over to Wilbur. To this Wilbur let out a screech and started to run to the other side of the house. Techno was close behind him. Phil laughed as he watched Wilbur run away from Techno and Techno going after him and Tommy going after Techno. Wilbur could hear his brother gaining on him. He had a plan of what to do. Wilbur dove at the ground and Techno tripped over him but he didn't fall. Well he did but Techno being Techno made it look like a graceful roll. Then Wilbur saw Tommy right behind him. Wilbur picked him up and he said "GET HIM" Then with him he threw Tommy at Techno. Tommy grabbed onto Techno's shoulders and tried to stop him as Techno started to chase after Wilbur.

Wilbur started to turn but then he ran right into Phil. He fell to the ground and then Phil picked him up in a bridled style. Then he said "I think you got caught again, mate." Phil chuckled as Wilbur wormed out of Phil's arms. He looked over to Techno and saw Tommy on top of Techno's shoulders trying to stop him from moving but failing...very badly. By this time the sun was setting.

"We should go inside, it's time to eat." Phil said, offering a hand to Wilbur. Then all 4 of them walked inside all laughing and joking.

Once they were inside Phil said " alright you guys go wash up and dinner will be ready soon."

The 3 boys walked to the upstairs bathroom and washed their hands.

"Wwwiiiiiiiilllllll" Tommy whined

"Yes Tommy" Wilbur said

"Do-do you think you could get me a stool, I can't reach the sink." Tommy said quietly

The 2 older brothers started to laugh uncontrollably, after a few moments later and a very unpleased Tommy

"Yeah I'll get you a stool" Techno said wiping tears from his face

Then Techno walked out of the room and came back with a stool. Then he placed it in front of Tommy. The 3 boys finished washing up and then walked back down stairs to the smell of steak and potatoes. The 3 of them walked into the kitchen and sat down by the counter.

" Techno?" Phil asked

"Yeah?" Techno said

" Do you think you could go and get me some thyme from the cellar?" Phil said as he cooked some steak.

"Sure," Techno said walking out of the house. As soon as Tommy heard the world Cellar he got a shiver down his spine and he began to zone out thinking about how many times he was left in the cellar. Tommy began to freak out until Wilbur rubbed his back and he whispered to him " You're okay, they can't hurt you anymore they don't know where you are."

Then Techno came back and gave Phil the Thyme. Phil thanked him and then they served dinner and talked about how cool killer whales are. After that Phil had cleaned up Dinner and Tommy helped him. Techno and Wilbur had gone up stairs.

" So, Tommy, you have a few options on where you want to sleep tonight. You could go to Wilbur or Techno's Room or the couch or you could sleep in my room. But until I get you some stuff for your room you kinda have to pick a spot. mate" Phil Told Tommy

" I will go into Will's room and vibe their" Tommy said

"Alright, if you're sure mate." Phil said

A few moments later Phil had made Tommy a little floor bed in Wilbur's room. Then he had gotten him some of Wilbur's old pajamas. Then Phil had the 3 boys get ready for bed. He walked into each room and said his goodnights.

" Goodnight Tommy, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite." Phil said

" Goodnight." Tommy and Wilbur said at the same time, they all chuckled to this.

Tommy waited for the hall light to go off. Confirming that Phil was in bed. Then Tommy turned to Wilbur and said " Soooo YOU LIKE HOT BABES?" Tommy whispered yelled at him. After a few seconds he turned to see Wilbur asleep. Then Tommy slowly fell asleep

He was back in the cellar. He could hear his parents above him. They were saying how much of a waste he was and how no one loved or wanted him. Then the cellar door began to shake and something or someone was banging on it. He went to the corner of the cellar and he started to cry. It was so overwhelming.

Tommy awoke in a cold sweat, He looked around and saw the clock read 3:23 am. He felt scared and out of place so he got up and made his way to Phil's room. The door was a jar so it was easy to open. He walked inside and Jumped on the bed but he made sure to not wake up Phil but he did anyway.

"Tommy?" Phil said very softly

"S-s-so s-s-ooorry, I s-s-should go." Tommy said but was stopped but Phil grabbed his wrist and then he said.

"Don't be sorry, what's wrong, did you have a nightmare?" Phil ask as he move the blanks so Tommy could be at his side

"Yeah I did." Tommy said softly

" Do you want to talk about it?" Phil asked him, as Tommy snuggled up to Phil melting at the touch of Phil comforting him.

" I was back in the cellar and I could hear them talking about me, and there was something trying to get into the cellar. I just got so overwhelmed I felt like I was going to die." Tommy said shakily as he buried his head into Phil's chest. He stroked Tommy's hair and he said

"Tommy, as long as I'm here Tommy I would never let anything bad happen to you or anyone in this house alright you're safe, I got you." Phil said as he held Tommy and as Tommy cried softly into his chest. Then Tommy went to sleep in Phil's arms. Phil fell asleep not too long after Tommy. He was glad Tommy Hadden turned on the lights.
