"Now that was something, eh Houndie?" Fuse asked while wiping sweat and blood off his face. Wasn't even sure who's blood this was.
They just barely won a duo game. The first squads weren't a problem for them; a lot of newbies that the Syndicate let compete for some reason. It was the last few squads that made the fight interesting. Their fighting ground was World's Edge and the last ring closed around Lava City. Fuse's plan was to hide in the center building and let the fighting happen around them. But Bloodhound didn't want that, mumbling something about honoring the dying instead of leeching the kills off of others. So Bloodhound's plan it was. Which, for Fuse, seemed like no plan at all. They fought differently today. It didn't seem like there was much planning, much thinking. They just went in and fought like a berserker, downing and finishing one squad after another, reloading their Flatline and r301 in between kills, and then jumping the next squad. But then they made a mistake. It was them and the last squad until the win. They'd been pushed into the building closest to the tunnel passage and were hiding on the second floor, enemies above their heads hiding on the roof.
From the other side of the room it looked like they threw away their weapon instead of an empty mag. Hound then took a zipline up, trying to get to the rooftop. Of course, they got downed immediately. Bangalore and Loba had heard them come up and had the high ground anyway. So now Fuse was alone, having to fight two people on his own while defeating their obvious advantage. But ol' Fuse wouldn't be the Fusey people loved and adored if he just gave up here or. Bloodhound by now had been finished by Loba, with a friendly "Sorry, vinur minn", as she kicked their face.
Their gods seemed to be in favor with Fuse today, given that their death box landed on his floor instead of going down all the way down the elevator shaft. So he made up his plan. Fuse was sure he knew this map better than both Loba and Bangalore, especially the building the three were fighting in. He could hear them giggle on the rooftop, thinking they'd won this match.
He was two floors below them. So he quickly jumped on the zipline, took one floor up, and dropped his armor. He went back down, took the purple armor out of Bloodhound's box, and went back up. Fuse could hear Bangalore wondering what the hell he was doing down here and it made him smile. He hid one of the body armors in the corner side next to the elevator and switched to a Spitfire he saw laying on the ground. Sometimes you gotta play dirty, he thought as he loaded it up. Now to his master plan.
He positioned himself in the middle of the room, activated his ultimate, and fired it against the wall.
"SHIT, SHIT, DAMN IT NOW", he yelled in direction of the elevator, as his motherload's fire raged through the room and took down the door. Then he sprinted into the corner and swapped his burned-down armor with the new one. The heat hurt on his face and he was sure half of his mustache was missing. But his plan worked. Loba and Bang believed he had just blown himself up, so they rushed him. Loba dropped down directly from the roof so she came first, through the door to the right of the elevator shaft. Fuse sprayed her down with the Spitfire, and thanks to his purple magazine, didn't even have to reload when Bangalore jumped from the zipline and tried to rush him. The giant LMG made his whole body vibrate and his finger never left the trigger. Bangalore's partner apparently didn't get a chance to reveal his position, so Bang had to go in blind. She also went down before even being able to see him.
"YOU ARE THE CHAMPION!", came from all around him and the simulation ended quickly after.
