Chapter 37: history

A/N I'm sorry for the break, I was procrastinating doing a project lol. And so, heres an extra long chapter for you guys 🙃

Myles POV

Eloping is hard. Well, obviously, escaping from a powerful family is not easy. We've been moving from town to town, from inn to inn. It's obviously not going to be easy to find a place to settle.

We have enough money, but it will not last for long. I've also heard the news that our families are looking for us, which is even better.

And my relationship with Curtis.... Well.... It's hard to explain. I know we were in a very difficult situation, and I'm sure he went along with me because he wanted to get away from his family.

We don't talk much, and I can tell he is very nervous around me. I'm sure my feelings for him freak him out.

I groan as I get out of bed. I haven't been sleeping well lately, for obvious reasons. I feel something rustling next to my hand, it was Curtis.

This small inn only had a bed room with a king bed available, although I couldn't be more happy, i know Curtis doesn't feel the same.

I quietly stand up, trying not to wake him. It was still very early in the morning. I dress up, and quietly leave the inn. We don't have much time until we are discovered and will have to leave again.

Curtis POV

My eyes flutter open. I look around confused, until remembering that we ran away from home.

I sit up and look around, where is Myles? He's usually the one who wakes me up, well, that's at least how it's been these past few weeks.

I sigh. And I thought I could have done it today.....

You see, i uh, after we escaped, I realised I never actually responded to Myles' feelings! I know i know I'm stupid! But I got caught up with the whole elope thing that I forgot to tell him how I feel!

Every day since then, I have been trying to tell him, but it either isn't the right atmosphere or we get distracted, and by we, I mean me.

But seriously, where is Myles? He never leaves like this, and when he does, he wakes me up to tell me....

I get out of bed and decide to go out of town myself. It was a quiet morning, not many people, considering it was a small town.

When me and Myles arrived in our first lodging, we still had our normal clothes on, which, among commoner clothes, stuck out like a sore thumb. We were found by our families knights almost instantly. Luckily, we escaped.

After that, we went to a local shop and bought some less conspicuous clothes. A smile creeps upon my face as I think of all the fun things we've done.

Back when we were still living with our families, we rarely met up, for obvious reasons, and I could only hang out with Myles for a short while before my parents get suspicious.

But now, I get to spend basically the whole day with him, it's super fun! Well, for me at least. Myles always has this face, I can never tell what he's thinking, so it makes it hard to judge...
