The Dinner and the Party

Tom's POV

"Oh yeah babe, take me to your hypnotizing eyes and ever loving heart."
I said as we entered the gelato shop.

I ordered vanilla with chocolate syrup and whipped cream while Nicole ordered blueberry, her favorite flavor. It's actually Nicole's first time to go to the best gelato shop in town (as they call it). That's why I made it a surprise. I made a little research about this shop to make sure she really will like it. Our orders finally came and we ate our ice cream happily.

We went downtown a little while later, the best part was, seing the sunset at the bay as a band played some love songs. It truly was a romantic experience. What a way to treat her on our one month anniversary! I thought to myself as I drove her back home.

I drove her home, luckily it was still 4:00, thirty minutes before her curfew. She said goodbye to me with a little peck on the cheek and I drove back to my own home. I live with my dad since my parents got separeted recently due to some financial problems but they got over it and are still friends though.

A day later

Bruce's POV

Hehe yeah, I thought to myself as I woke up with a smile. I made breakfast for me and grandma, packed my stuff and went to school.

It's Wednesday, Algebra and Biology time. None of my friends are on algebra so i had to sit with some nerds, Algebra was really boring with none of my newfound friends. My teacher had this big mole under her chin that looked like it had mucus inside frickin' gross.

I met these nerds, Jessica and Ming. Jessica looked a bit like a lesbian and was obviously American- Indian with piercings all over her face. Ming was this asian girl who talked in shallow sentences and always raised her hand the whole time. They were the friendly type though. During this group activity I just sat back, joined their group and made them do all the work. How mean of me.

Oh yeah, Lunch break. Finally out of this hellhole.

As usual, I sat at the BB Jock's table and they congratulated me for being on the team. They said new guys don't usually get to the team which means I got skill.

Sam was nowhere to be found. I looked for her at the cheerleader's table, asking her fellow cheerleaders and the gym but still no sign of her. Then I finally saw her at the corridor. Talking to that guy I did not expect to. It was Dan. Quickly, I hid next to the nearest locker I could find and managed to listen a bit. She mentioned something about inviting him to her house? Wtf? Why would she even invite that jerk to her house?

I just headed back to the cafeteria and ate my sandwich. She passed by the cheerleader's table and talked for a bit. She approached some other more tables and I wondered why until she came to our table then she mentioned about the party...
Oohhhhh...

Yeahh...

I remember now. I was paranoid when Dan talked to her though since she mentioned about inviting him. I just dissmissed that thought. Maybe Dan just actually is not that mean. Maybe he's just overprotective for Sam or whatever I found out Dan danced with Sam last year and Dan's like head kver heels for her but Sam's not ready yet so... yeah.

Biology came. Thankfully, Tom was in that class. I sat next to him and gave him a smile but he only replied back with a shallow one. I asked him if he had a problem and he said yes.

"Bruce, hate to break it to you but Nicole's Dad found about me and Nicole cuting classes. I took the blame for it but thankfully, he gave me a second chance. He arranged us a dinner date with Nicole's Fam this friday, but it's also the date Sam's gonna throw out a party. I promised to help her arrange and also help her with some advice cause I throw out those what people call "Legendary" hehe. I'm nervous about the dinner, though. I'm not familiar around formal gatherings and stuff. I need your help."

"Tom, be strong. Don't worry about Sam, I'll handle it. You just need to be yourself and act natural on this dinner."

"Thanks for the support bro, I appreciate it."

Friday Night
An hour before the party

(Sam's POV)

Sam was just getting ready for the party.

Stray socks picked up, check
All playlists done, check
Arcade game set, check
Snacks, check
Drinks, check

"Oh crap, crap, crap, CRAP!" I can't have guests yet *facepalm*, Sam muttered as the doorbell rang.

"Surprise!"

"Oh, it was just you Bruce. Damn, I'm really freaking out. I'm not yet done with the planner's list. Ben was supposed to help me but I guess you know about the incident?"

"Relax, Sam. I know. Tom told me, that's why i'm here to help. Friends help Friends right?"

"Thank you Bruce. You really are there for me."

"So let's get started."

Tom's POV

So, I'm finally here, Nicole's house.
Nicole greeted me outside the car. She told me to just be myself and act natural around her dad.

I got out of the car and Coach Thompson was staring at me from the doorstep.
"Good Evening, Thomas."

Nicole's dad greeted me with a firm handshake.

I went inside and Mrs. Thompson was cooking something. The good smell of roast beef filled the air as I sat down akwardly, not knowing what to say.
