A chill of nervousness ran down my spine as I sat down. Coach Thompson sat next to me, so i was literally freaking out in my mind. What if I say something bad and everything goes wrong? I might never be able to talk to Nicole again!
"Dinner's ready!", Mrs. Thompson broke the silence as she sat down beside Nicole. I filled my plate with roast beef and some mashed potatoes with gravy.
"So Thomas, any plans for college? Where do you plan to study?
"Sir, after I graduate, I plan to study at Washington General University."
"That's ambitious. What job do you want to take after you graduate from college?
"Sir, I plan to become an event coordinator."
"Just a fancy name for a party thrower, eh. I know that you throw those pathetic parties that just ruin students' focus on their studies."
"Richard! Don't be rude!", Nicole's mom blurted out.
Nicole just let out a sigh.
"No sir, Event Coordinators have a decent salary and they manage events ranging from simple friend and family get- togethers, gatherings, reuninons and more to high end weddings and luxurious parties. And also, Washington University offers many courses, so that means I also have choices for my job plans such as hotel management, information technology and much, much more. (Thanks, Internet!)
Our little future talk just lit up a conversation. I noticed he started to smile as he asked questions and he liked the replies I gave. It was about my interests and hobbies. Typical Stuff about me to get me a little more aquainted with him.
Nicole also let out a little smile. Maybe Nicole's Dad is starting to like me, I thought to myself.
"Well Thomas, I thought you were the type of boyfriend that's just irresponsible and lazy. But turns out, that you are enthusiastic and Even that brave to stand up for yourself when I found out that Nicole had to cut classes because of that "date" you had. I expect more from you, son.
"Thank you sir."
"More mashed potatoes?"
"Please!", I said gladly.
Bruce's POV
7:30 pm, just a few minutes before the party.
"All done Sam! Everything's in place now. Only the guests are left to come!
"Nice! Thanks Bruce! I could've haven't done it without ya! Sam said with a grin. We were the only ones in the living room, standing and facing each other with smiles on our lips.
I stared at her beatiful green eyes. She stared at my hazel eyes. This was the moment and I knew it, I said to myself as i tried to make the first move.
The doorbell rang. What a way to interrupt our moment. 4 guests came in, The hipsters. Then more and more came until the house was filled. before I knew it, Everyone was here. It was only 8:00 and the living room was filled with everyone.
The nerds were on the TV playing some kind of videogame on the Xbox, the hipsters were taking photographs outside and Sam was with the cheerleaders talking, with all the other guys hanging out on what they're into. I was really left out, dammit.
Out of nowhere, Chuck pulled me from the collar and we greeted each other akwardly. He told me to follow him to this room where the rest of the BB jocks were playing a game of truth or dare.
I happily agreed thinking that I will meet some new friends, the rest of the team.
We played a few rounds and nothing interesting happened, just a few truth's. Then Sam came in with two other cheerleaders, Emily and Kim. They joined in and Nick, our team captain spinned the bottle and it landed on Sam. Then she chose dare. Chuck said: "Sam, I dare you to kiss anyone on this circle!
"Well......", Sam said with a smirk.
"I'll just kiss kim. Then she did it on the cheek. "Girls..." Nick said with a grin.
"Shut up!" Sam said as she blushed a little.
"We're like best friends!"
"Totes True, Nick!" Kim said.
"Okay, okay it was a dare hehe."
"I'd like to see you kiss a guy, Nick!" Emily interrupted with a laughing tone.
Everyone in the circle laughed.
Tom's POV
"The custard was really delicious, Mrs. Thompson. And thanks for the dinner by the way, it was good."- I said as i finished my desert.
"Your welcome, Tom. Thanks for coming."
"It's nice that you guys got to know Tom a bit more!"- Nicole said with a smile.
"Well, goodbye Thomas. You proved yourself worthy of being a good boyfriend. I guess I will give you another chance to date my daughter."
"Thank you, Mr. Thompson, hope to see you again!" I said as I entered my car.
Nicole and her family waved me goodbye and I did the same, as I drove my car back home.
Congratulations to me! Noting went wrong, her dad got to know me a bit and thought I was a good guy and I can still date Nicole! I gave myself a pat on the back.
Bruce's POV
Heh, just increased my reputation, socialized and met new friends! This is practically the best night of my life! I thought to myself.
People left little by little as soon as the music faded away and Bruce stayed for awhile to help Sam tidy up her house a bit.
"So you leavin?"
"Yeah, thanks for the party."
"Don't mention it." Sam said with a smile.
We were outside, Only the two of us. Her beautiful jade green eyes shone in the moonlight as She stared at my eyes too. It was our true moment. This is it, only the two of us outside, this late at night. She made the first move, Her soft lips touched mine and time stopped.
I tried to calm my beating heart as she leaned in. But it was pointless. I only felt the softness of her lips as I closed my eyes. The moment our lips met, I gently pulled her closer, I ran my thumb down her cheek passionately, feeling her long, brown hair as she leaned forward and it was heaven.
My heart was beating fast as the world stopped around me. We were kissing. I just could feel her hair, soft as silk as I closed my eyes. Confusion ran through my mind, was she Dan's girlfriend? But I just let it all go. I lost myself.
After the kiss ended, I was stunned. We were both smiling, looking at each other. She let out out a grin.
"See you, Bruce."
"Well, goodbye Sam!, See ya!"
I rode my bike back home. I was excited about our "new relationship" and couldn't just stop thinking about Sam as I slept.
