"I meant that... Uh..." I cleared my throat, panicking.
"Emma is hot, sure, but it's just that she's not my type, so you don't need to worry." I quickly stated, trying my best to smile. At this, Mitsuya sighed, shaking his head.
"You're bad at wording stuff." he said, making me nod in agreement.
Draken narrowed his eyes.
"Oh, more importantly, why did you even come with Mitsuya?" he asked, slight amusement lacing his voice.
"Hmm?" I hummed, looking towards Mitsuya.
"Oh, that's because-" I couldn't finish, thanks to Mitsuya covering my mouth as soon as I started.
I quickly took his hands off of my mouth, frowning.
"Nothing. Never mind." I quickly said, smiling nervously. This time, it was Mikey who narrowed his eyes.
"You took away Baji from me, and now it's Mitsuya?" he stated with a pout. My nervous smile transformed into a polite one.
"Ehh~ I didn't know that you were that kind of person," I paused, this time looking directly at Mikey. "It's not good to have a crush on two people at the same time, you know!" I gave a bright closed eye smile, making Mikey tremble in anger.
"Hey! Why are you always so stupid!" he exclaimed, not knowing what to say.
"I would say the same thing to you..." I murmured quietly, just enough so that Mikey could hear me.
Mikey looked bewildered.
"Just... Shut up!"
"I wasn't speaking." I replied casually.
"Shut up!" he said, and I really did.
I shrugged, waving bye to Takemitchy and Hinata. Just before I was about to leave, I suddenly came to a halt.
"Oh, by the way... What's your name, Takemitchy's girlfriend?" I asked, wanting to introduce myself to Hina.
"It's Hinata Tachibina. How about you?" she said with a smile. I smiled lightly.
"Y/N L/N, pleasure to meet you!"
"Hey, Y/N-chan?" Baji called, making me turn to face him.
"What is it, Baji?" I answered.
"Is.. 1+2 equal to 3?"
At this, I just blankly stared at him, questioning what I had just heard.
"Yes. Definitely." I replied, gulping worriedly.
"What? But it's not scientifically proven that 1+2=3, right?" he asked once more, looking completely frightened.
"..."
"Oh no... I told all of the Toman members that 1+2=2..." Baji grimaced, making me gasp in shock.
"YOU DID WHAT?" I asked, my soul leaving my body. Baji groaned.
"I'm so screwed..."
"Don't worry, they'll understand," I calmly stated, regaining my posture. "Anyways... why did you even call me to the library?" I asked, looking around the stacks of books. Baji smiled.
"I wanted to ask you something," he paused, the happy aura turning into a more serious one. I nodded. "On the other day, I remember the childish dude in hats talking about you being a 'foreigner'. What's that about?" Baji stopped, looking at my worried expression. "I mean, you don't have to answer me if you feel uncomfortable, of course..."
I bitterly smiled.
"I'll tell you some day when I'm ready. For now, please just stop wondering about that topic." I requested. Baji nodded.
"Okay, then. Let's leave now. We don't have anything else to discuss, right?" as soon as I blurted out those words, I saw the library door open, revealing Dazai, Osamu Dazai, right there on the spot. He made eye contact with me as soon as I realized the situation I was stuck in.
"Oh." I said, smiling nervously.
"Oh." Dazai repeated.
"...Uh, Baji?" I nervously asked, looking down. "Let's leave right now."
Baji shrugged. "Okay, I mean, if you want to." he said.
As soon as Baji stood up, Dazai stopped me.
"Hey~ Nice to see you again~" he said, making me awkwardly smile.
"Yeah... Bye."
As I quickly tried to get away from the suicidal character in front of me, Dazai continued to stop me from getting closer to the exit. I frowned deeply.
"Hey, just get to the point. No need to waste time, right?" I whispered sharply, Dazai's smile never faltering.
"Okay, then. I wanted to ask about one thing..." as Dazai trailed off, my anxiety grew more and more. Was he going to ask something about the 'foreigner' thing? Does he already know that Bungo Stray Dogs is an anime?
"What is your relationship with Q?" Dazai's smile faded away, my eyes widening in bewilderment.
"You mean the Yumeno Kyusaku?" I asked, realizing that me whispering to Ranpo back in the manga store was a wrong move.
I didn't know that Dazai could hear so well.
I gulped, not knowing what to say.
"Nothing. I've never met him before," I quickly said, Dazai narrowing his eyes.
"Oh?" he started. "So you've seen him before, know his name, but never met him before, right?" his bright voice sent shivers down my spine, especially since it was a threatening tone.
"No? Excuse your, uh, audacity for being suspicious of me. I don't even know how 'Q' looks like. I've only heard his name somewhere on the streets." I sternly glared at brown eyes, Dazai finally sighing in defeat.
"Okay. Get out now, I guess." he shrugged, making me glare in anger.
"I was about to, dumbass!" I shouted.
Everyone immediately turned to glare at me.
Oh.
Right, I was still inside a library.
A/N:
Sorry for the slightly short chapter, but to give an okay excuse, I was working on this chapter while working on the Kazutora Special, so I wrote 100 less words than I usually would.
Bye!
