JONATHAN
"You don't say." Oh, my little rose petal. You should know better than to lie to me. "What else do you know about her?" I asked curious to know more. What could be worse than just her name.
"I'm working on it, just gimme a few minutes." I took a seat next to practically hovering over him. The anticipation of whether I'd like what I might find or not.
"Are you done yet?" I whispered in his ear. Will jumps out of his chair not knowing that I walked up to him from behind. "Why are you acting like a five year old on Christmas morning, dude?"
"I just need answers. Why would she lie about her name? And there's something about her that I can't quite put my finger on. I need to know as much as I can about her."
Will just looks into space. I can see the wheels turning. "What are you thinking and why do I have a feeling that I might not like it?" I asked.
He looks at me at with a weird look on his face. I just furrowed my brows together. "Try by wooing her. Impress her to the extend of her opening up to you.
"Stuff like that never works. I have my own ways of extracting information from anyone. And no I don't mean torture techniques. I'll save that for later." I patted him on the back and walked out of the room.
Waiting for the elevator door to open, I took out my phone to check in back home. I couldn't believe my eyes when the doors finally opened. Jason Dubbs was here in Vegas too. It's like world war 3 is about to occur in this hotel this week.
I haven't seen the feds yet, but they do know how to blind in with the population. I hung up the phone right when Lura picked up. I gave him a curt nod in acknowledgment.
"you look familiar, do I know you?" He asked me.Giving him a blank facial expression, I shook my head no. He spoke again, "I apologize. You look like an old friend of my father's. His name was Pedro Garcia." My body went rigid. How did dad know the Dubbs. "Do you by any chance happen to know him? Perhaps he's your father."
Again, I shook my head no. Keeping the same facial expression I turned towards him, "I am an orphan. I don't know who my parents are and I don't care." Just as I finished saying that. The elevator doors opened. Rose stood before us, eyes wide on Dubbs. I grabbed her by the arms and yanked her away from him.
Not before she whispered, "it can't be."
NATALIE
I thought Michael was lying when he said Dubbs was alive. But seeing him with my own eyes made me physically sick. Thank god Jonathan got me out of there. Lord knows what I'd do. Just like Pierce, Dubbs is worse. When he targets you he stops at nothing to get you.
He eats body parts as well. The last time I saw him his mouth was covered with blood. No, he is not a vampire, but he is sickening. He put all vampires to shame.
The fact that he is here in the same room with Dubbs and god know who else makes this mission a lot more complicated. I hate complications. Why can't things go smoothly.
At least I don't have to worry about Valentine's Day. Jonathan didn't stop dragging me until we reached the janitor's closet. "Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost." I have to remember that Jonathan is also a criminal, but not the kind of criminal Pierce and Dubbs, he is the type that does what the local police or even federal agents are limited or can't do. He has saved as much lives as he has taken them.
"I'm just overwhelmed with all the handsome men around me. Especially during the Valentine's Day holiday." I looked around the small room trying to avoid looking at him. I hate that I am attracted to him. I hate how close is to me. I hate that Michael is listening in. I hate that I want to jump his bones.
