(Can be related)

"...I can see you."

"Oh, can you now." A puff of smoke formed on top of the chair in front of Lucifer's desk. It cleared up, just to reveal you smiling cheekily, an elbow perched up as you propped your chin on your palm.

Lucifer ran his fingers through his hair. "Do you need anything?"

You shook your head, the tips of your lips stretching up slightly. "Not particularly, no."

His brow rose in suspicion. He was well aware of your relations with the Anti-Lucifer League, and the two might be using you as a pawn.

You waved your hand in dismissal. "Whatever's going on in that head of yours is false."

He sent you a blank look. With a sigh, he returned his attention back to the documents on his desk.

Lucifer couldn't sleep. And instead of putting more effort in trying to fall deeper in slumber, he just decided to go ahead and handle a few papers. These weren't due for a while, yet he was just finishing them.

You frowned. "Isn't it a bit to late for you to be handling paperwork?"

"You say that, yet you're here sitting on front of my desk at an absurd hour as well." He shot back. Sticking you're tongue out, you retorted. "Hey now, don't turn this around on me, Luci~"

"I came here because I was w--" You caught yourself just in time. Your abrupt halt in speech prompted Lucifer to raise one of his brows. You ignored this action and cleared your throat. "--Because Diavolo might get worried."

"Diavolo?" He repeated. He was well aware of your slip up and poorly recovered statement, yet he just decided to tease you.

"And how does Diavolo relate to the matter at hand?"

"Well ya kno..." You trailed off, only to pick it back up in a few seconds. "Because I don't want Diavolo to find out you were late because you overslept. Or if you do manage to get up early, he'd be confused as to why you're like that."

Lucifer was hit by a familiar sense of Deja Vu. It was the same excuse he made back then. He found himself chuckling at the memory.

This small action of his made you smile.

"Are you having trouble sleeping?"

"Not at all. I'm just handling these documents in advance so they don't become a nuisance later on."

"Uh huh..." Your brow quirked up. "Because doing paperwork in the middle of the night is normal?"

"..."

"You can't fall asleep, can you?"

"..."

And you took that silence as a yes.

You hummed, placing your hand under your chin as you thought of some sort of solution to his current insomniac tendency.

Then your demeanor brightened. Lucifer could only gaze at you in confusion and slight anticipation.
