I set my alarm to ring at five forty-five in the morning- a good hour before my mom and sister had to wake up. I quickly shut off my alarm and quietly got off of the bottom bunk, trying not to wake my sister who slept on the top bunk. 'It's really going to be like this everyday, huh.' I thought. I turned on my phone's flashlight and placed it on my dresser so the light could illuminate the room. I looked over at Pearce who was somehow sleeping peacefully. And here I am about to ruin it. I tapped his shoulder multiple times trying to get him up.

That didn't work at all. I had to turn to violently shaking him, which did work. He sleepily looked up at me. "Why are you awake?" He asked me. Although it was kind of hard to hear what he said. For all I know he could've asked if we had any steak; but I'll stick with the first question. "Sorry to wake you up so early. I promise you'll get to sleep more a bit later, but right now you need to wake up." I told him. I explained to him how he'd have to hang out in my closet until my mom and sister leave the house. Thankfully my sister leaves her clothes in our mom's room so he wouldn't have to worry about her needing to get clothes from there.

Two hours after that moment passed and my mom and sister were gone. That meant Pearce and I were the only ones in the house. I walked back to my room and knocked on the closet. "They're gone now, you can go back to sleep." I sat back on my bed and noticed a small rectangular object near where Pearce was sleeping before.

It honestly looked like a phone. And to confirm my suspicions, there was a charger right next to it. Pearce finally stepped out and saw the phone and charger on the ground. "My phone!" He exclaimed and picked up the items. "Now I can call someone and tell them what happened." He said trying to turn it on. He frowned when he realized it was dead. He found an outlet and immediately plugged it in. "Do you think anyone's going to believe you if  you tell them you woke up in some random girl's house because she decided to take part in some dumb ritual thinking it wasn't going to work?" I asked him. The room was silent for a moment before he spoke up again. "Valid. Do you have anything I can eat for breakfast?" He asked me. I got up and took him to the kitchen. "Uhhh, we have Coco Pebbles, Cocoa Krispies, we have cupcake flavored or hot fudge sundae flavored pop tarts," I opened up the fridge and looked around. "I can make some eggs if you want." I looked back at him and he nodded. "I'll get the eggs, thanks." I grabbed the eggs and everything else I needed to make them. "Alrighty then, eggs it is."
