I laid in my bed my heart pounding as if it was going to pop out of my chest. It took all my will power to control the tears that fought to get out. The day that i found out what I truly was still haunted me. Actually i remember it like it yesterday.
"Mom i'm going out with my friends be back in a bit !" I yelled at my mom
"take a jacket and you cell phone just in case" she replied while coming down the stairs. My mom was something else she always seamed like something was going to happen. I mean yes every ones mom is protective but not like my mom after 10:30 she wants me back home, and every time I get back she starts questioning me with weired questions like did any one fallow you home and did anyone weird come talk to you. I never let it bother me too much but I still find it some what annoying I mean
come on i'm 15 already, but the thing that annoyed me the most was that nothing ever happened well not until today.
Today was my 15th birthday and me and acouple of friends planed to hang out and just go and do what ever the heck we wanted to do. I walked to my friends Michael's house since he was the closest one to me ,and we were all going to meat up at his house . As i walked I had a sudden chill go down my spine and that only happened when someone was watching me. I turned around and saw an old man in a robe staring at me. His blue eyes seamed to look into my soul and search for my biggest fear.
"Hey Jose!" I heard the sound of my best friend Rafael's voice yell at me. I turned and saw everyone
walking towards me. Jude the tallest out of all of us. He had curly hair, light skin even thought he's Hispanic. Next to him was Rafael my best friend. He was the second tallest of our group. He had dark brown skin not fully black but almost there. He had black short hair he mostly kept pulled back. After him was Jason he had short messy hair and always wore black we never knew why but he did. Right next to him was joshua he was a little dark not like me but still brown he had short black hair and was skinny as hell but he had muscle.Than it was Matthew he was white with dirty blond and although he didn't look like much mess with him and you'll regret it. Following next to him was Michael he was like our little brother shorter than us not the shortest but second to last he was just like my skin tone and was a little husky and even though he looked like nothing he was dangerous to mess with (Rafael has the scars to prove it) and last but not least it was Leonard he was the smallest one out of the whole group with milk chocolate skin he was crazy always making us laugh.
"What's up alphalfa!" Jude said in a little sing tone. He loves calling me that because of how I have my hair. I don't have it all up like a spike but i pull it forward than swipe it up at the front. He also loves making fun of me being short well Jude not that much he was the nicest person in our group but rafael did.
"So were are we going tonight for my birthday guys?" I asked my voice filled with excitement
"A strip club" Matthew said as i did a hand shake with him.
"Matthew be quiet" I said jokingly as a smile spread i my face ,"But really where we going?" I asked
"Yeah we're going to the movies after that we have a surprise for you if everything goes right"
"What do you mean if everything goes right" I asked to no one in general. Since no one replied i gave it no thought. I decided to just go long with it.
That part of the night was the best of my life. We just walked around down town and went to go see a movie.
"So guys whats the big surprise" I asked mixed emotions of nervous and excitement ran trough my body. I stopped smiling as soon as I saw them get serious and Leonard is never serious.
"Guys whats going on?"I asked
The excitement out of my voice. I looked and saw then giving each other looks than finally Jude looked at me and said with a tone I've never heard him use
"There's something we must all tell you"
"No shit man whats going on"I said I didn't show it but I was scared
"You're not a mortal Jose neither are any of us"Leonard told me with a straight face.
"What the heck are you talking about"
"Jose it's not a joke ok"Rafael said in a tone he only uses when he's serious
" then what the heck am i well are we?"I asked
"We don't have a specific name but we call our selfs the chosen ones" Gabriel piped up
"And what exactly are we?"I asked randomly
"We are what's left of a bloodline of warriors choose by god to keep peace" between our world and hell"Matthew explained to me
"What are you talking about?"I was beyond confused and still thought it was a joke
"Just let his grandad explain it to him" Jason said annoyed
"Screw you man i told you my grandad is dead why did you say that!" I said with anger in my voice .
"Maybe because I'm not dead my grandson"I heard a soft voice say behind me. I turned around and saw the old man in the robe looking at me those blue eyes seamed to have another view in them. Now they were kind and loving now.
"No that's impossible, my granddad die before i was born!" I yelled out in anger
"Your mom well my daughter never wanted you to find out but i am your grandfather"he said in a calm voice that made me want to believe him but I just couldn't
"Prove it to me"I said knowing he wasn't going to be able to.
"You have a birthmark at you're left side shape like a Half-moon and you're invulnerable to the ice"he said with out hesitating
"Grandad is that really you"i couldn't believe it my grandad was alive
"Well isn't that lovely"I heard a new voice say from behind. We all turned and saw a new person there. He was tall light brown skin black straight hair and he was buff.
"Isaac so it's true huh?" I heard my grandad ask "you truly have return"
"Who is he grandad" I ask but he didn't answer.
"Don't worry I'm not here for a fight well not with you"he said as he pointed at me and my friends
"Not here not now Isaac" my grandad said
Everything and everyone was silent. Then out of nowhere. A blast of air shot out and made me fly back against the wall.
I blacked out and when I woke up everyone was around my grandad. I got up and hurried to him.
"Jose take this" he said and handed me a blue crystal
"It contains my powers which are now yours my memories on how to use it are in it as well take care of it and don't loose it"with that he closed his eyes and went to another world
I looked up at my friends and said as tears ran down my face "I don't care who that was i want to find him and I will kill him"
