Lei’s POV

For the next few weeks Chris and I managed to find new hiding spots at school where no one could find us. Every weekend one of us was at the other’s house and it was great, I finally had an amazing friend and this weekend he’d promised me a movie night at his house.

“You’ve got all your stuff Lei? Because I swear I’m not coming back again.

“Jeez I leave a toothbrush at home one time and I never hear the end of it.”

Chris just laughs and we walk the few blocks to his house as the bags will never fit on my bike and I’m not exactly a huge fan of cars.

“Hey Lei,” Chris’ mom saunters out of the kitchen, “There’s some lunch on the table, Chris your dad and I are going out for a relaxing weekend. Are you alright at home?”

“Sure, I can always stay at Lei’s if I feel uncomfortable,” I nod at his suggestion and both of Chris’s parents hug me as they leave. I really need to get used to all of this affection.

I grab some lasagne and scoop it onto a plate for myself and then for Chris and we sit in front of the tv.

“So tonight we’ll stay here and tomorrow at yours?”

“Sure,” I smile and blush a little at his excitement.

“What to watch…” He scrolls through some channels and eventually chooses the “History” channel.

“Storage Wars?”

“Yep.”

“Chriiiiiiiiiis!”

“Whaaaaaat?!”

“Nothing,” I punch his arm lightly and cross my arms in fake anger.

“I can tell when you’re faking Lei.”

“DAMNIT!” I punch his arm a little harder this time.

“Ouch.”

“Sorry.”

“No you’re not.”

“You’re right I’m not,” at this he punches my arm.

Chris’s POV

We both grin at each other and then we’re left with an odd awkward silence.

“Chris there’s something I wanted to ask you…”

“Yes?”

“Are you… I mean I have no problem with it because I’m… But I was wondering if you were…”

“Were what?” I ask softly.

“Gay,” he responds, at first I’m a little taken aback but then I manage to snap myself out of it.

“Yep,” a smile lightly and suddenly he grins manically, then seems to try and compose himself, coughing a little (his tell-tale sign of trying to cover something up).

“Me to,” he grins more shyly this time.

“Lei?”

“What is it? So you hate me? I know I shouldn’t have brought this up I just…”

I cut him off, taking a chance by pressing my lips against his and we fall into a gentle pattern, both of our lips moving together. The awkward silence replaced by my heart beat sounding in my ears and my skin sparking where we touch.
