Night died of asphyxiation. There was shortage of blood flow to her brain.
The autopsy result revealed that she had an asthmatic attack during the struggle with her killer.
There was a deep cut at the right side of her head that indicated that she hit her head on the sharp edge of the stairs.
There were bruises and scratches on her neck that may have meant the killer tried to strangle her.
The bottom line was, there was semen in her panties.
The theory was that: Night was recording her day's events in her diary when the intruder, now obviously a male, came in.
He had his way with her and then Night tried to get out of the room. This was probably where the struggle started.
She must have threatened to report the fellow and out of fear, the person strangled her. This must have been the part Kendall vaguely recalled. Perhaps the person was pleading with her.
The fellow, seeing how uncomfortable Night was because of her attack, took this as an opportunity to do the deed. He pushed her from the top of the stairs.
There was no other person in the house with them. Why was the result screaming Blanche?
Kendall said he was at the library shortly after they went in together and she was not aware if he was with her when she heard voices.
There had to be a way to find out who slept with Night. A DNA test. A strand of hair could do.
Now I just had to find a way to get Blanche's sample.
