I woke up, rubbing my eyes. I stretched as I sat up, finally, it's summer. My feet touched the cold ground and I walked to the bathroom to take a shower. After my shower I put on a large black hoodie and some pale skinny-jeans. I walked out to the kitchen where my little brother, Alex, and my older sister, Kale, sat eating their breakfasts. I checked the time, 7:25AM. Damn, my body is used to getting up early. I said nothing as I grabbed a bowl and filled it up halfway with (F/Cereal). I ate at the table and popped my earbuds in my ears. I was a big fan of NF, I found him through Mansion, I fell in love with his newer music and I couldn't go a day without listening to it.

"(Y/N)?" Kale was waving her hand in front of my face, I woke up from my daydream and asked what she wanted. "Your friend, Isabella, is here." I sighed and walked to the door, it was too early for her bubbly attitude. I unplugged my music, "(Y/N)!! I have amazing news!" I rolled my eyes. "There couldn't possibly be anything good about today." she sighed, "Come outside with me." She grabbed my hand and dragged me outside. "I got us both NF Perception tour tickets! But wait, it gets even better!" My heart almost stopped, "There can't be better!","Sh." she put her finger over my mouth. "We don't want you super strict dad to hear, now do we? Anyway, they are VIP tickets! We get to meet him!!" we both squealed and fangirled together.

I text Kale telling her to tell dad that I'm leaving with Izzy. We went to our usual hangout; in the forest behind her house. There was a small opening of bushes that if you brushed past it would bring you to a small tree-less area, great stargazing view! We both sat down on the blankets we kept there, we talked about all sorts of things while slowly lingering off of the topic of the tickets. I brought them back up and she showed them to me, as she said they were VIPs. What were a couple of 19 year olds doing going to a concert meeting a random rapper and almost dying seeing the tickets? I have no clue. We talked until it hit 8PM, usually my curfew.

I had very strict parents all my life, my mom ran away when I was 5 and my dad didn't cope too well. My dad is a drug addict and me and my older sister are the only people funding the house. My dad clearly had depression and maybe a hint of BPD. He has sudden lashes where he's abused us but no cops believed us, so we just let it happen. Kale is falling into crippling alcoholism and Alex is showing symptoms of trauma from being abused. Life is a wreck and I don't know what I'd do without Izzy, a childhood best friend. Enough about my past.

We said our goodbyes and I left, walking home. I happened to walk by the park where the concert was being held. Men in white apparel were setting up the stage and speaker, excitement rushed through my body and I smiled, continuing home. I checked the time before I went through that horrid door, 8:52PM, shit. I walked to the side of the house my room was in and snuck in through the window, an act I've done many times before. I quickly took off my shoes and walked out of my room. I looked down at my phone as I walked out, it was as if time slowed as I smelt the smell of beer, my dad was home. I took a small breath and walked into the kitchen, putting my phone in my pocket. I sat at the table where Kale and Alex were waiting. Our dad was making soup but he was just finishing up when he saw me.

"And what were you doing past your curfew?" he didn't lift his head. "Sorry.. I guess time got ahead of me heh...","What's so funny?" shit, "Oh nothing.." he poured soup into bowls for everybody, about 2 bowls in; he sparked up the topic again. "You know what I'm going to have to do now." I held my breath as he spoke again, "Get into the closet and give me your phone." I handed him my phone -- of which he had the passcode to -- and I headed to the closet. I closed the door and he locked the sliding doors with a padlock. My heart dropped as I remembered who was in my contacts, a guy I met online named Conner who I was practically dating was in there. All it took was a tap to see all of the messages we had sent.

"(Y/N), (Y/M/N), (Y/L/N). Who the Hell is Conner?" If I told him the truth I'd be dead, "Just a friend.." I could tell he started reading the messages by the sudden smash. Through the small lines of sight I saw my phone, shattered, sliding across the floor. "You didn't tell me you had a boyfriend." he walked to the closet and looked at me through the lines, "Get out here." he opened the padlock and ripped open the door, grabbing my hand so tight I thought it was going to snap. I tugged but that only made him squeeze harder, I was holding back tears as he dragged me up the stairs. I knew where he was going; directly to the tool shop with all the 'torture weapons'. He only did this when he was extra pissed.
