Prologue

At Mallika's office, 7 Am

Mallika's POV :

I just reached my cabin at sharp 7 as usual when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in!" I said.

I saw Krish entering the office with a bouquet in his hands. Oh god! Is this what I'm thinking it is? I always felt that he had something towards me, but I never thought he would actually take the next step.

"Hi Mallika, Good Morning!" 

"Hi Krish"

"Soo..umm I need to say something to you."

I raised my eyebrows in a questioning manner while my fingers were crossed behind my back. Hope he doesn't say that he likes me. Plsss god! 

"I think I have feelings for you!" He said, breaking my heart into a million pieces.

How should I tell him that I have atleast had a twenty proposals in the last few years, but I rejected all of them! How should I tell him that I already gave my heart to someone else a few years ago. How do I tell him that although my heart longs to see that person every single minute, I still haven't seen him in years and don't know where he is. After a few seconds, I took a deep breath and gathered my courage by taking Krishna's name. I have to open up atleast now!

"I'm sorry Krish, you're a really nice person, but I already belong to somebody else! I'm sure you will get someone better than me." I said while looking down.

"Who is it Mallika? I never saw you with any other boy. Then which boy are you talking about?" Krish asked.

I looked up to meet his eyes while a fresh tear left mine.

"He's my first and last love. I haven't seen him in years, but I believe in us, I believe in our love. He will come back. He will come back to take me in his embrace once more. He will come back, my Sumedh will come back!" I blurted out, not being able to control anymore.
